For those who are wandering about the origins of Old Firm, Roberto has decided to discuss the definition, origins and evolution of Old Firm with the inclusion of honours and records.
Definition and History
Old Firm deals with the rivalry between two football clubs located in Glasgow, Scotland: Rangers and Celtic. The first game between the two teams occurred at Celtic Park on the 28th of May in 1,888. Since then, both teams have won 63 Scottish Cups and 93 Scottish Premiership League Championships at the time of writing this article.
The domination of the Old Firm in Scottish Football was interrupted briefly by the New Firm of Aberdeen and Dundee United in the early 1,980’s and the 2,005-2,006 season with Hearts being second place to the Celtics.
Motives of Rivalry and Unity
The motives of the rivalry have been branded as sectarian, religious, or political but they have not been proven. This rivalry had lead to deaths and injuries until recent years. It is fair to say that the rivalry exists just like rivalries exists between opposing teams like Manchester United VS Chelsea.
Regardless, there have been an attempt to eliminate the sectarian violence in spite of disagreements over which songs and verses are sectarian. The Old Firm have found common ground in charitable work and in the desire of leaving the SPL for the EPL. The Old Firm have also found common ground in that their petition to move from SPL and EPL may have opposition from the Scottish Football Association and the UEFA Governing Body.
Ten Classic Matches According to Rangers
Even though Roberto is a supporter of Celtic FC, he decided to take a look at the Rangers Webpage to see the ten classic matches of Old Firm in which the Rangers defeated the Celtic.

Old Firm [Celtic and Rangers] have a tradition that supporters of both teams and the world can be proud of. For those who criticize Old Firm and Football, Old Firm will never die. Old Firm will continue to amaze all who support football and be a light for its supporters.
Roberto will go further in his assessment of Old Firm. Imagine the Human Race having to do what Stephan Hawkings suggested in moving people to outer space. Now imagine Old Firm playing in places like the Saturnian Moon of Titan. We could say that Old Firm like Football is truly universal.
