El 21 de Julio de 2,007 quedara escrita en la historia del futbol estadounidense como el inicio de la Revolucion de Beckham. Se inicio la revolucion en el Home Depot Center en Carson, California.

El pueblo de Los Angeles y Estados Unidos esperaban con ansias para la llegada de Beckham. Se podia apreciar la presencia de figuras destacadas como Eva Longoria, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Schwarzneggar, Drew Carey.

En la Florida [en la casa de Roberto donde familia y amistades congregaba para ver el juego], la multitud besaba la foto de Beckham y se vestian de la camisa de las Galaxias de Los Angeles Numero 23. Con la llegada de Beckham como un heroe, la multitud comenzo a gritar, silbar, y celebrar.

El juego comenzo con Beckham en reposo y Chelsea en posesion del juego. Roberto sintio una inpaciencia por dentro por los fallos de las Galaxias de Los Angeles y comenzo a refugiarse con una tasa de cafe frio. Aunque el corazon de Roberto expresaba una cosa, el cerebro de Roberto tomo en cuenta la organizacion y diciplina existente en el club de Chelsea. El final de la primera mitad fue un aburrimiento sin goles y sin Beckham.

La Segunda Mitad comenzo con un gol de Terry para el equipo de Chelsea y un dolor de cabeza para Roberto. La multitud preguntaba porque Beckham no esta jugando? Roberto planteo la misma cosa pero su esposa y hija lo tranzquilizo. Beckham jugo los ultimos minutos y el pueblo lo recibio con aplausos y la gente besando sus fotos y el televisor. Con el final del juego, termino la fiesta con la multitud saliendo de la casa de Roberto felices por haber visto la historia en el futbol estadounidense.

Quizas gano el club Chelsea pero la victoria pertenece al futbol estadounidense.

Tensión, aventura y riesgo serán solo parte de esta nueva edición que nos traerá hoy a las 12:00 del mediodía, el osado equipo de "Bitácora", tras enfrentar un fabuloso encuentro con las profundidades de la selva venezolana y la aventura de navegar por los ríos "Cunucunuma" y "Casiquiare", afluentes del río Orinoco, uno de los más importantes del mundo y el principal de nuestro país.

El equipo comenzará este recorrido desde Puerto Ayacucho, y con la ayuda de la Guardia Nacional volarán en avión durante dos horas y media para poder llegar hasta "La Esmeralda", la capital del municipio "Alto Orinoco". Allí nos mostrarán una de las once etnias indígenas de nuestro país: "Los Yekuanas".

Luego el equipo y Valentina, por fin, se montarán en el dichoso barco de expediciones "La Iguana", que los trasladará por el río para penetrar aún más el inolvidable verde del Amazonas. Nos darán a conocer el barco y nos contarán sobre importantes personalidades que se han hospedado y han recorrido nuestra Venezuela, escondidos e incógnitos en este hotel ambulante.

El equipo estará navegando para llegar a conocer la primera comunidad indígena de su visita: "Los Yekuanas", de la comunidad "Acanaña". Allí compartirán con estos indígenas para permitirnos conocer un poco más sobre sus costumbres y veremos cómo hacen el rico casabe de estas tierras.

Luego, para continuar con la aventura y el riesgo, se montarán en las lanchas rápidas, que los llevarán por el "Cunucunuma" hasta "Culebra" y pasarán el susto de sus vidas paseando en esta lancha en mitad del río. Pero la osadía tendrá su recompensa ya que al llegar confirmarán que éste es uno de los más hermosos lugares de nuestro país, ubicado entre los imponentes tepuyes, verdaderos oasis de contacto con lo más virgen de nuestra Madre Tierra.

Para finalizar, nos bañaremos en el río, llenos de dicha, paz y arropados por este silencio que no se encuentra en ninguna parte del mundo.

Beckham Debuts in LA

The 21st of July 2,007 will be remembered as the first appearance by David Beckham with the LA Galaxy at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

Pre-Game

The USA went wild with the Beckham phenomenon. Stars like Eva Longoria, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Drew Carey [a football supporter since MLS started] and even Governor Schwarzneggar shared the podium and publicity.

Here in Florida, girls were kissing Beckham’s Poster. The rest of the public was seeing the latest British Invasion and welcoming it. Roberto was extremely happy when he saw Beckham arrive with much fanfare. He looked more like a conquering hero than a football player. The anxiety for Roberto increased when he heard the opinion of Landon Donovan only to feel better after Donovan was positive with Beckham. Roberto’s Heart was beating with joy.

Before the game, TV Commercials showed Beckham Commercials with Background Music from the Beatle’s Song: “Hello Goodbye”. Roberto was able to understand the significance of the song.

1st Half

The game started with Beckham not playing and Chelsea in possession during 66% of the game. There was a feeling of frustration on the part of Roberto that there were no scores and that the LA Galaxy had conceded too much to Chelsea.

It has to be remembered that Chelsea was better organized than the LA Galaxy but Roberto felt angered enough to look for a cold cup of Café Latte for refuge. Roberto’s Wife and Daughter were telling him that it was only a game. Roberto responded by saying: “This is more than a game, this is history”.

The first half ended with a heartache and a headache because of no score and no Beckham.

Half Time

Schwarzneggar and Lalas went on TV and talked about the glowing future of football in the USA. Roberto hopes that they were right. Drew Carey challenged people to go to a football game. Roberto is already tempted to go to a Miami FC and Chivas USA Game.

Second Half

The Second Half started with Terry scoring a goal while unassisted for Chelsea and Roberto feeling like he was kicked in the stomach. One goal and Beckham deciding whether or not to play left Roberto’s Arteries and Veins boil to the point of a headache. Roberto drunk another Cold Latte with two Pain Killers.
Regardless, Chelsea was still showing itself to be a formidable opponent for the LA Galaxy and LA needed something and fast.

Finally, Beckham substituted for Alan Gordon and the crowds went wild. Roberto has now witnessed football history and was cured immediately of his headache.

The last minutes of the game were the best in the game taking into account how well the game was being played. This was superior to other games played during the MLS Season.

It was not enough for the LA Galaxy as they lost. It must be remembered that while Roberto’s Heart was in Los Angeles, he realized that Chelsea was superior in organization and quality football. LA Galaxy has to do a lot more in its season in order to save it namely win every game.

With Beckham, there maybe more surprises for the average football supporter. One thing for sure, football is here to stay in America.
