Malasia y la Copa Asiatica 2007

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2007-07-23 - 16:38:58

Malasia 0-5 Uzbekistan

Malaysia: What Went Wrong?

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2007-07-23 - 15:30:01

Malaysia was the host of the AFC Asian Cup with Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia in the year 2,007.

During the AFC Asian Cup, Malaysia suffered abject humiliation by being relegated to last place in Group C with zero points after being defeated by Iran, Uzbekistan, and China.

Why did a team such as Malaysia go from being the best in the late 1970’s to being a disaster? To answer this question, Roberto saw films of the games between Malaysia in the Group C Setting [Iran, Uzbekistan, and China].

In order to arrive at the conclusion, a review of each game is in order.

Malaysia 1-5 China

On the 10th of July 2,007 at 20:35, Malaysia and China played their first game in Group C at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Everything went well until China pounded Malaysia with goals during most of the game with Han Peng initiating the slaughter at 15:00 Minutes. Indra Putra Mahayuddin was able to score one goal for Malaysia in 72:00 Minutes.

In this game, China was able to execute well organized goals with possession of the game after the first one. China was also more disciplined and organized in their match against Malaysia. There were examples such as Wang Dong being able to kick a ball over the goalkeeper’s head Azizon Kadir to score for China.

Malaysia on the other hand was disorganized and missed opportunities to score or to gain possession of the ball. China took advantage of this to pound misery after misery on the Malaysian Team. Malaysia may have scored one goal but it was not enough to hide the reality of being defeated in their own country in front of their own people.

Malaysian Coach Norizan Bakar actually admitted in a press conference that there was a game plan that was not applied during the match against China. Mr. Norizan Bakar was angered that Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand had won their matches and asked for more time. Mr. Norizan Bakar also declared this defeat to be a learning experience for the Malaysian Team.

Malaysia 0-5 Uzbekistan

On the 14th of July 2,007 at 18:20, Malaysia and Uzbekistan played their game in the Group C Division at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Unfortunately, Malaysia did not learn its lesson as the better organized and disciplined team from Uzbekistan pounded a disorganized and demoralized Malaysian Team. The game appeared more like a way for the Uzbeks to display their anger and wrath after being defeated by Iran.

Malaysia tried under the best circumstances but again more mistakes were made which worked to the advantage of Uzbekistan.

Mr. Norizan Bakar acknowledgement that Malaysia had a “poor quality team” and the declaration of Malaysia defender K. Nanthakumar about “the frequent lapse of concentration in the Malaysian Team” further angered many people in Malaysia.

Uzbek Coach Inileyev declaration that Uzbeks “can play better than when they played Malaysia” made a bad situation worse with calls for Norizan Bakar’s removal as coach and the resignation of one of the top officials in Malaysian Football.

The declaration by Inileyev made Roberto very angry since his interpretation of Inileyev’s Declaration bordered on the arrogant with tinges of racism.

Malaysia 0-2 Iran

On the 18th of July 2,007 at 20:35, Malaysia and Iran played their game in the Group C Division at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with history repeating itself.

Even though the Coach of The Iranian National Team Amir Ghalenoei warned Iran against being complacent, it was a foregone conclusion that Iran would defeat Malaysia. Roberto recognizes the organizational discipline that Iran has. Iran managed to recuperate from its defeat to Mexico in the 2006 World Cup to come back charging like a lion.

This time, Malaysia put some resistance but it was too little too late as fatigued set in. Iran was able to take advantage of the fatigue to score two goals.

In their last game, Malaysia was able to go down in defeat with dignity yet it was not enough for the press and the people of this beautiful land.

The Coach

Norizan Bakar was axed as coach of the Malaysian National Team. Norizan Bakar used his departure speech to be philosophical about losing his job and to criticize those who were “always complaining”. Norizan Bakar further stated that he was “a teacher and that does not mean that he will stop”. Norizan Bakar further defended his period by stating that results cannot be achieved overnight.

Roberto saw the speech and was deeply moved as he saw a coach who tried under the circumstances to help Malaysia become a victim of the circumstances.

Malaysia has to renew itself with new people and with a discipline and organization that was present in Uzbekistan, and Iran. China was a different story that has to be sorted out by the Chinese.

While Malaysia has to renew itself, it is Malaysia that has to find a formula for winning games and having discipline. Malaysia has the fortitude and power to do this. While Roberto has yet to visit Malaysia, he was impressed with the Tallest Towers and the discipline of the people. Roberto is confident that this could be the same for the Malaysian Football Team.

Phillies Campaign Names New Press Director

Phillies 2008, the Libertarian Presidential Campaign, announced today the appointment of Carolyn Marbry as Press Director. "Marbry will give us a major enhancement of all our electronic campaigns," candidate Phillies said. Ms. Marbry, a California playwright, poet and director whose political writing drew the attention of George Phillies and his campaign staff, sees her role in the campaign as an opportunity to help Phillies and the Libertarian Party make some big changes in Washington, DC.

"So many voters are uncertain," Marbry said. With both major parties pulling to extremes and wanting to strip away freedoms, voters say they're voting AGAINST someone rather than FOR someone. "I want people to vote positively, for a candidate they believe in.

"Now is the time for a return to the old American values of less government with more personal freedom and personal responsibility. In 2008, George Phillies is the man to bring that change to Washington. So I'm very pleased and honored to accept this appointment and to offer my complete and enthusiastic support to George Phillies in his campaign for President."
