Danny Bergara was born in Montevideo, Uruguay and played in some of the games of the various teams in his country before moving to Spain in 1962.

In Spain, he played for Sevilla and Mallorca until he married an English Travel Guide and moved to England. He coached in teams such as Rochdale, Rotherham and Doncaster with a brief spell with the Brunei National Team.

Mugabe and RNW

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2007-07-26 - 13:11:07

The following was from my participation in the Radio Netherlands Worldwide Programme: "Amsterdam Forum". The references can be appreciated in the bottom part of this blog if readers want to visit RNW. I have also invited Radio Netherlands to visit blogs related to the coverage of Zimbabwe.

"The US working to undermine Zimbabwe's Government? That's a new one. The US Media never mentions Zimbabwe or Mugabe."

"Whatever information I receive is from Radio Netherlands, SABC, ABC [Australia], RCI [Canada], and the BBC. Mugabe was a creation of the Republicans and Democrats of Washington as well as the West. But to attempt a regime change in the style of Iraq and Afghanistan would be counterproductive. South Africa must lead the way to force a regime change especially since South Africa is the powerhouse in southern Africa and they are going to host the 2010 World Cup."

"South Africa must not do it [regime change] alone but in conjunction with Angola, Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, and Swaziland. According to SABC [South Africa Broadcasting Corporation], many small and big businesses are leaving Zimbabwe."

Gloria y Muerte [ESP]

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2007-07-26 - 04:09:53

Glory and Death

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2007-07-26 - 03:11:07

In the AFC Asian Cup 2007, Iraq defeated South Korea to classify for the final game against Saudi Arabia.

In any place, it would have been good news. In Iraq, the good news was marred by the killing of 27 and injury of 122 people by car bombs.

It is an injustice that Iraq has to have death in the midst of its glory of reaching the AFC Asian Cup Championships.

The following was an E Mail sent to Younis Mahmoud of Iraq’s Team with the hope of an interview.:

“I work as a writer for Socca Critics.

While Iraq deserved its victory over South Korea, what has happened in after victory is a disgrace.

After this, it is hoped that Iraq will win the AFC Asian Cup for 2007.

I would like to extend to you an invitation to be interviewed by the underwriter in Socca Critics.

Without much, best wishes from Florida“.

The footballers of the world must unite with the Iraqi Team in the hopes of a victory over Saudi Arabia. It would be one of the best news and proof that Unity may come through football.
