BONDS AND BASEBALL
I received the good news about Barry Bonds and his record breaking home run of 756. It is a great time for baseball.
Unfortunately, there are detractors of Barry Bonds who use the excuse of “steroids” in baseball to discredit him. This smacks nothing more than racism [which is alive and kicking in America]. When a minority in the USA has a success, the Anglo-Saxons who love to call themselves “Americans” use every opportunity to discredit the minority.
While it is not a denial that there are minorities in sports who have used some form of drugs, baseball has always seen corruption even before the presence of minorities.
Who cannot forget the 1877 Conspiracy to exchange bribes from gamblers by the Louisville Grays and whose ringleaders had surnames such as Devlin, Hall, Nichols, and Craver?
There were suspicions and bribery attempts between 1908 to 1918 with people such as Connie Mack being involved and which nearly destroyed baseball.
The Pete Rose Scandal was the greatest scandal followed by the 1985 Cocaine Scandal which involved [besides Keith Hernandez] people like Parker, Berra, Scurry, Mazzilli, Lacy, and Milner.
Barry Bonds has taken steroid tests and has come out clean. Anyone who opposes Barry Bonds and wants to make false accusations should be stripped of their US Citizenship and made to do the work of undocumented workers.
