Thank You Australia

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2007-09-07 - 17:57:59

It has come to my attention that the ABC Comedy Show called “The Chaser’s War on Everything” helped crash the APEC Summit by stealing the attention from Bush. For “The Chaser’s War on Everything”, you made news in favour of liberty.

I also want to congratulate those who staged the “Buns for Bush” Protest. I liked that and it is hoped that something similar could occur in the Republican and Democratic Conventions of 2008.

The Greens and their Global Warming also deserve special mention. Liberty won the day and Dictatorship took a nosedive.

Zimbabwe Meltdown and Fast II

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2007-09-07 - 14:45:12

Zimbabwe has announced that it will devalue its currency in response to its economic problems.

According to the BBC News Website, One US Dollar is worth 30,000 Zimbabwe Dollars in the Official Circles while One US Dollar is worth 250,000 Zimbabwe Dollars in the Alternative Market.

At the present time, Inflation in Zimbabwe is almost at 7700% although the International Monetary Fund may place inflation at 100,000%. One reform was to increase stamp and excise duties while lowering or waiving taxes on low wage earners. This appears to be a great step except that the attempts to freeze prices backfired after producers cut production and exacerbated the shortages.

In the meantime, Zimbabweans have left for South Africa. South Africa has appeared non committal in Zimbabwe’s Problem even though they are hosting the World Cup in 2010.

In a surprising turn of events, many people in Zimbabwe are going to Zambia to sell their products and to buy the basics. Zambia is also taking advantage of those who want to see Victoria Falls without having to cross into Zimbabwe. The Zambian Kwacha seems to have increased in value in comparison with the Zimbabwean Dollar. This has been an example of role reversal since there was a time when the Zambian Kwacha was worthless and the Zimbabwean Dollar worth a lot.

Only time will tell what happens.

Free The Internet

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2007-09-07 - 14:44:12

The US Justice Department wants to charge for a two tier internet system and has the desire to interfere in the Internet System.

This is the equivalent of taking away the little freedom that one enjoys.

Who cannot forget when the Republicans and Democrats:
1. Denied the Libertarians and Greens the right to debate in the Presidential Elections?

2. Denied the Libertarians and Greens the right to participate in the Presidential Elections using draconian and discriminatory laws such as ballot access?

3. Declared War on Iraq based on a Lie?

4. Supported Dictators such as Castro and Chavez?

5. Stole Half of Mexican Territory?

6. Stole Territory from the Inuit, Hawaiians, Native Americans?

7. Have made excuses to interfere in our lives, our education, and our right to free expression?

8. Placed Japanese Americans in Concentration Camps [including those born in the USA] for allegedly supporting Japan against the USA?

We must reclaim our right to a Free and Neutral Internet and tell the Republicans, Democrats and their financial supporters to RESIGN!!

Response to Sir Alex Ferguson about US Football

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2007-09-07 - 13:32:07

Sir Alex Ferguson has declared that Beckham cannot change the USA into a football nation.

The reasons he gave are the fact that “there is a lack of homegrown talent in the USA” and that “the USA is too big for rivalries”. Roberto is in disagreement with Ferguson. Football or Soccer is growing and while Beckham has played little secondary to his injuries, he has been instrumental in rasing its stature.

Another disagreement that the USA is too big to allow rivalries. During Roberto’s Visit to Tropical Park Stadium in Miami Florida, he saw people of different ages almost filling up a 7000 person stadium to watch the Miami FC defeat the Charleston Battery in a 3-2 victory. This victory was miraculous and people were supporting their team although some muted their support for fear of the police.

There are schools learning about the trade of football and people going to see LA Galaxy, New England Revolution, and the Chivas USA. Another factor is the massive immigration from Latin America. While these are changes that must come gradually, Football has a future and the 21st Century will be for the USA what the 20th Century was for Europe and Latin America.

SPORTS YES! DRUGS NO!

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2007-09-07 - 13:28:47

Steroids should never be allowed in professional sports. The reason is damage to the people who watch the sport on a psychological basis and to the person playing the sport.

I could remember the few times while watching TV; Joe Namath had an Ovaltine Commercial. [This commercial was made during the year 1972 when the New York Jets and The Miami Dolphins were looking for the perfect NFL Season.]. In this commercial, Joe Namath challenged the youth of America to "get high on Ovaltine and say no to drugs".

Fast forward to the 21st Century with Steroids use as well as drug use abundant in all spheres of society. Even some of our Health Care Professionals have been caught in the act taking medications for patients for personal use. All of this has been related in part to the use of steroids in sports and use of drugs by personalities in the USA.

There was a time when East Germany [the former German Democratic Republic] would win medals in the Olympics of 1976, 1980, and 1988. East Germany was very impressive in its victories. When the Berlin Wall fell and Germany was reunited, many who had won medals confessed to having been forced steroids by the East German Sports Authorities. Their bodies were damaged by the use of steroids taking an emotional and physical toll. One of the Sports Personalities in East Germany confessed to being sterile after steroid use.

It is with these reasons that drugs including steroids should be separated from sports.
