George Phillies for President 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Phillies: When is it Time to End the War in Iraq? Already
In a scathing condemnation of the Bush administration's plan to return troop levels to just above their August 2006 pre-surge levels by August 2008, leading Libertarian Presidential candidate George Phillies called the plan "unacceptable to a majority of Americans: We Americans want complete withdrawal from Iraq now."

The statement, published on the Phillies website http://phillies2008.org Friday afternoon, likewise denounced House Minority leader Boehner's statement that nearly 4,000 dead and another 30,000 wounded is "a small price to pay” as “an insult to every American, especially every serviceman."

Phillies observed that Boehner forgot to include among the dead the half million Iraqi war fatalities, and ignored the two and a half million refugees who have fled to neighboring Syria and elsewhere.

Why did we pay this 'small price?'" the Massachusetts Libertarian hopeful asked. "American support for the invasion of Iraq was built on a foundation of lies and insinuations: Lies that we were enforcing UN Resolutions. Lies that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. Insinuations that Saddam Hussein supported Al Qaida and that he was involved in 9/11. All the Bush Republican Party's reasons for starting their war turned out to be false."

The statement goes on to castigate the Democratic party, the opposition party "so craven that when George Bush says 'Jump!' his alleged opponents ask only, 'How high?' "

"As President, I'll bring our brave soldiers and their equipment home as fast as possible," Dr. Phillies said. "But Americans who want peace have no alternative. In 2008, they can vote for more war, or they can vote Libertarian!"

The Scolari Punch

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2007-09-15 - 15:55:41

Roberto has just found out via the BBC Asian Newtork: "Kickin Off" that Scolari punched a Serbian Player during the Euro 2008 Qualifiers. UEFA is now investigated and punished Scolari and the Serbian Player.

The proporsal drom the announcers about a boxing match would be a great idea. But I propose a better idea, both Scolari and the Serbian Player should be given a permanent ban from football.

Veracruz 1-3 Necaxa [ESP] [ENG]

VERACRUZ 1-3 NECAXA

Veracruz 1-3 Necaxa

Veracruz: 4/10
Necaxa: 6/10

VERACRUZ 1-3 NECAXA

Roberto was able to see Veracruz play against Necaxa live from Veracruz on Azteca America TV.

After a boring first half in which Roberto had to drink some cold coffee without milk, the referees awarded two yellow cards to each member of the competing teams for “foolish behaviour”. Roberto was angered and was losing his impatience.

The Second Half was like an Electric Charge in which Necaxa scored goal after goal. Roberto celebrated with a cup of red wine, and a cup of cold caffee with milk. Veracruz dissolved under the pressure after scoring one goal.

Necaxa with its discipline and tenacity proved itself to be king of La Liga Mexicana while Veracruz was playing like if they were stunned. Veracruz has an excuse for its poor play. The City of Veracruz suffered from the effects of Hurricane Dean. The Team itself had to leave many of their equipment behind and their game suffered as a result.

The real winner was the City of Veracruz who was able to organize a game at a fast paced rate after Hurricane Dean. They deserve Roberto’s Praise.
