The first post Mourinho game for Chelsea took place at Old Trafford against Manchester United. The attendance was 75663.
The game appeared to be a wake and a funeral for Chelsea while the fans were cheering their support for Mourinho. The first half was terrible for Chelsea with Obi being expelled from the game and Manchester United scoring its first goal courtesy of Carlos Tevez.
The second half was almost the same thing with Chelsea in agony and Manchester United taking advantage of the situation. Not even the substitution of Shevchenko by Kalou, Malouda by Wright Philips, and Cole by Pizarro could not resolve the agony. Roberto felt that his legs were amputated without the anaesthesia. This sensation was exacerbated with a booking of Rooney for dissenting. Mike Dean had no reason to book Rooney.
Roberto was even angered but not surprised that Manchester United was able to take possession of the ball and the game. Of course, the referees always have their way in these games. Mike Dean unjustly gave a booking to Cole for unprofessional behaviour but Roberto is unable to see the proof..
Is there a license examination for referees or is it only for managers? If there is no such thing as a license requirement for referees that there should be. The reason is that it appears that Mike Dean loves bookings since Brown and Terry were booked for “anti sports behaviour”.
Manchester United now decides to substitute Saha for Tevez but it is not needed since Manchester United has the home town advantage and the psychological advantage that does not exist in Chelsea. Regardless, Manchester United played a great game and was able to maintain its advantage and possession in the field. This was evident with the second goal by Saha [via a penalty kick] for Manchester United at the end of the second half.
It was painful to see Chelsea struggling after what happened over the weekend with Mourinho out and a new manager called Grant operating without a license. It was pathetic and sad. Roberto was even screaming expletives at the businessman called Abrarmovich who knows more about money than he does about football.
Regardless, it is over.
Manchester United 2-0 Chelsea
Manchester United: 6/10
Chelsea: 4/10
