The fact that Republicans and Democrats have affairs is nothing new in the history of the USA. We in America have been witness to the fact that while the Republican Leadership investigated Bill Clinton and his sexual relationships with Monica Lewinsky, they themselves suffered.
Examples have been Harry Hyde and his extramarital affairs, Senator Chenowith and her sexual experiments in the Idaho Room, and Dan Burton fathering a child after an extramarital affairs. The list can go on with Strom Thurmond having a child from an extramarital affair. Even Kennedy, Roosevelt, and Eisenhower as well as Jefferson had extramarital affairs.
It is the fact that these affairs are being brought out into the open proves that our leaders are not "Gods" but mere mortals. The fact that these extramarital affairs are contributing to the downfall of America is a fact since it takes time from what is ailing the USA such as the economy, the war, the health care system.
The solution comes from a Libertarian Government which would institute responsibility, honesty, transparency, and term limits for all spheres of government.
A Libertarian Government believes in the separation of the State from the Bedroom.
If this solution is not accepted readily, the alternatives will not be pleasant for the USA and its future generations.
