On October 2007 with my wife and daughter, we took our first trip to Key West. We drove from Miami all the way to Key West on US 1 until we reached our hotel La Concha Inn.

La Concha Inn was a place where writers such as Hemingway stayed and received his inspirations. La Concha also inspired me to write this article about Key West.

After settling down, I took my wife and daughter on the tour in which we started with the Sears Shopping Center. Both were not content so we went to Duval Street.

On the way to Duval Street, we went to the Catholic Church called St. Mary's By The Sea which is one of the most beautiful churches in Key West. We then proceeded to go to the Southernmost Pier in Key West. It was almost night time and we were able to see La Habana Cuba from a distance.

Afterwords, we went to Instituto San Carlos [which used to be the Cuban Consulate in Key West until 1958] and enjoyed the review of Cuban History including the life and times of Jose Marti [Father of Cuban Independence]. We passed through the various stores in Duval Street and had supper at the local Hard Rock Cafe.

When we arrived at the Hard Rock Cafe, two of the employees invited my wife, my daughter, and myself to write something at the cement at the entrance. My daughter took her chalk and wrote: "Save the Rain Forest" and "Help Fight Breast Cancer". The Hard Rock Cafe applauded since my daughter is 11 years old. I was challenged to write something else which was "Protect The Earth". We enjoyed our supper of Roast Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, and Vegetables.

Unfortunately these days have disappeared and the television in America has become decadent, vulgar, undignified, with promotion of prostitution. Who cannot forget the series "Desperate Housewives" with the cliche of women "not getting sex from their husbands and looking elsewhere". Who cannot forget the part where one of the actresses said to the plumber: "Can You Fix My Pipes?" in a sexual innuendo.

Where there is lack of respect there is also racism, the same programme "Desperate Housewives" whose stars promote prostitution because maybe the artists in their unconscious minds have "tendencies of prostitutes" insulted the Philippines and the Health Care Profession in the Philippines.

Where there is decline in the television, the society follows as well with the Republicans and Democrats attacking each other over personality flaws. Even Hollywood has the people going after the news story of Ellen De Generes Dog, with the antics of a Lindsey Lohan, Britney Spears, Nicole Richie, and Paris Hilton. US Society stinks in its present state since there are almost no family entertainment [unless a person can go to public television, or sports].

I myself have seen in the Internet television from China, and The Muslim World with their promotion of family values. One has to wander if many people are turning off the USA and turning onto the Islamic World because of this.

This change of heart apparently came after the reaction of Chelsea Supporters to his interview with France Football Magazine. Another reason was the fact that Grant had a private talk with Drogba.

Lessons to be learned is that if you love something, give 100% of your effort. If you do not love what you do, go to another place.

DEFENSORES DE LOS ANIMALES ORGANIZAN COLORIDA MANIFESTACIÓN NACIONAL CONTRA LAS CORRIDAS DE TOROS

Continúa campaña de sensibilización a nivel nacional contra el
maltrato por diversión hacia los animales

Asociaciones protectoras de animales, ecologistas, culturales, filosóficas, espirituales, y otras que conforman Perú Antitaurino, vienen realizando una campaña de sensibilización en todo el país, que tiene por finalidad crear conciencia en la sociedad sobre la importancia del respeto hacia los animales para una cultura de paz. Por ello, están convocando este domingo 28 de octubre, a una colorida manifestación nacional contra las corridas de toros que, a diferencia de otros años, se realizará simultáneamente en distintas provincias del interior del país. En Lima la concentración y partida será desde la Plaza San Martín, a partir de la 1pm. para luego dirigirse hacia la plaza de Acho.

Así mismo, se proporcionará a todas las personas concurrentes material informativo sobre ésta y otras campañas a realizarse.

CARL WOOD & SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC

Carl Wood signed a contract with Scarborough Athletic on the 19th of October 2007. Carl Wood previously played for Frickley United, North Ferriby United, and the Hall Road Rangers.

His first game with the Scarborough Athletic Football Club was against Bottesford Town on the 20th of October 2007. Although Scarborough Athletic lost 3 to 1 against Bottesford Town, it is only a beginning. It remains to see what will happen when Carl Wood and Scarborough Athletic plays against the Winterton Rangers on the 24th of October 2007. This was the game that was postponed from the 18th of October to the 24th of October 2007.

Roberto expresses his best wishes for Scarborough Athletic in their next game against the Winterton Rangers.
