Nils Liedholm was born in Sweden on October 8, 1922 and played for the National Team of Sweden where he won the Gold Medal in the 1948 London Olympics and where he scored 10 goals in 21 appearances. He also played for AC Milan with 81 goals in 359 appearances.

After his retirement from actual play, he was a manager of AC Milan, Verona, Monza, Varese, Florentina, and AS Roma until his retirement in 1997.

He will be missed by the football world. Roberto extends his condolences to the Liedholm Family, Sweden, and AC Milan.

Manning and Brady are NFL Stars in their respective teams; the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots. Both teams have had previous experience in winning the Super Bowl with Indianapolis winning the last Super Bowl and New England winning many other Super Bowls.

Manning and the Indianapolis Colts are a disciplined team with an excellent offensive and defensive. The players also appear motivated as well and with an experienced coach such as Tony Dungy [as well as a player such as Peyton Manning], Indianapolis went to places it could hardly imagine. The finest hour for the Indianapolis Colts was their victory over the Chicago Bears in the last Super Bowl.

Brady with the New England Patriots have the tenacity, discipline, and will to play and win. New England also has its great defense and offense as well as other areas well taken care of in NFL Games.

New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts also receive a rigorous practice before the start of the NFL and have rehearsals on how to play under different climates and conditions in the field. These practices also take into account that the RCA Dome in Indianapolis Indiana is a Closed Roof Dome.

Belgrade, 2 November 2007 – His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander delegated Mr. Dragomir Acovic, member of the Privy Council, and Dr. Nikola Moravcevic, member of the Crown Council, to attend a memorial service for HM King Peter II of Yugoslavia who died on 3 November 1970.

The memorial service for His Majesty King Peter II will be held on 3 November at the Saint George Church at Oplenac, the mausoleum and foundation of the Serbian Royal Family Karadjordjevic .

King Peter II was the eldest son of Their Majesties King Alexander I and Queen Maria (formerly a Romanian Princess).

His Godparents were Their Majesties King George VI and Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain . At the early age of 11, his father King Alexander I of Yugoslavia was assassinated in Marseille in 1934. It was at that moment that the young King Peter had lost not only his father, but his childhood. He returned to Belgrade , as King Peter II of Yugoslavia .

He was still not of age; a Regency was formed and headed by his great uncle Prince Regent Paul of Yugoslavia and two other regents.

On 27 March 1941 the people took to the streets and demonstrated against the signing of the Tripartite Pact. Across Yugoslavia , and especially among the Serbian people, the siding with Nazi Germany and Hitler was considered treason. With the help of the Royal Yugoslav Air Force, King Peter II assumed full Royal duties, even though he was just short of legal age (18). Prince Regent Paul was sent into exile to Kenya with his family for the rest of the war, while young King Peter II took hold of the country that was about to fall apart under internal and external troubles, and the Second World War was approaching the country.

The Communists would later celebrate this date, but it is clear from historical film found recently that it was the brave ordinary people who took to the streets, calling out King Peter’s name and carrying his posters.

On 6 April 1941 Hitler bombed Belgrade , mercilessly, without declaring war. In two weeks, Yugoslavia fell and was torn up and divided among Germany and its satellites. On the advice of the Royal Yugoslav Government and most influential figures of the time, King Peter II was asked to lead the country from abroad, where he would get in touch with the Allies and ask for help.

King Peter II decided with a heavy heart to leave the Palace in Belgrade – the only Royal Palace that was bombed during the Second World War, and he left for London via Athens , Jerusalem and Cairo . He was greeted as a hero whose country and people dared to oppose Nazi Germany and Hitler. Even today, memories of his meeting with Churchill, or his addressing the United States Congress, remain vivid.

King Peter’s wife was Queen Alexandra of Yugoslavia (formerly a Princess of Greece and Denmark ), whom King Peter married on 20 March 1944 in London and they had only one child Crown Prince Alexander II.

King Peter II rests at the St. Sava church in Libertyville , Illinois , United States of America – the only European monarch buried on American soil.

He will be brought back to rest at the St. George church at Oplenac.

King Peter II had never abdicated. The moment he surrendered his tormented soul to the Lord, his son Alexander became King. But, he chose a title of Crown Prince. Even though King Peter II had never managed to fulfil his dream of returning home, it came true for his son Crown Prince Alexander and his family.

Texas LP begins state tour

The Libertarian Party of Texas has begun its 25-city tour of the state.
State chair Pat Dixon and Executive Director Wes Benedict hope to
grow the party throughout the state with this effort to reach out to
supporters and the general public. The tour has attracted the attention of
media.

A reporter from News 8 Austin came to the conference in Austin and
conducted an extensive interview with Benedict and the first declared
candidate, Ben Easton for State Representative District 48. This 24-hour
Austin news channel ran this story multiple times in their televised
broadcasts

Another reporter from an Austin local TV station interviewed Dixon at
the Austin conference, which ran later that evening.

Benedict was hoping for a larger turnout to display on these televised
events. “While I wish we had had a larger turnout, we were competing
against sunny weather on a Saturday afternoon (I can think of lots of
other fun things I could have been doing), hours before a UT home
football game, and a week after the start of the fall school semester.”

Later that evening on the largest AM radio station in Austin, KLBJ's
Saturday night host Kenny Rahmeyer had Wes on his show to discuss the
goals and results of our event Saturday. This was the result of paid
advertising by the Travis County Libertarian Party on KLBJ to promote the
event. Many people reported hearing the advertisements.

Another Austin radio personality, DJ Reale, "The Quiet Storm," on KAZI
88.7 FM, heard about the event through the KLBJ Radio advertisement and
attended to find out more about the candidate recruitment efforts.

The following day, Dixon and Benedict traveled to Houston for the
second stop on the tour. Five Libertarians filed to run for office while an
additional five filled out candidate preference sheets expressing a
likelihood of filing for office soon as we work to identify appropriate
races for them.

Dixon hopes supporters turn out for the media coverage in other cities
on the tour. “It would have been nice if we had a large audience to
show up and put on TV! Several TV stations and newspapers have contacted
us about coming to the events. When we complain about not getting
media coverage, we have no reason to complain if we do not show up when
they do come. We would really appreciate seeing you at the meeting we
have scheduled in your area, even if only for a little while.”

State Party takes positions on Nov 6 ballot

The Libertarian Party of Texas (LPT) state executive committee has
adopted positions on 10 of the 16 Texas constitutional amendment
propositions to appear on the November 6 ballot.

For: 7, 10, 11, 14
Against: 2, 4, 5, 12, 15, 16
No position: 1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 13

Propositions 3, 5, 6, and 9 generated debate among Libertarians. On the
one hand, they appear to provide some tax relief. On the other hand,
they are targeted toward narrow special-interest groups to buy votes and
provide sound bites for re-election campaigns, while the legislature
keeps raising, spending and shifting the tax burden onto others.
Libertarians favor broad-based tax and spending cuts, rather than more
complexity and special interest pandering.

These are the LPT positions, with brief explanations:

1. No position (Angelo State University governance change)

2. AGAINST (Additional $100 million bonds for student loans)
Bonds cause future tax increases. Government subsidies to students
enable university bureaucrats to keep raising tuitions and fees. Student
debt upon graduation has skyrocketed in the past ten years, and we
shouldn't encourage that trend with more tax dollars.

3. No position (Tweaking appraisal cap rules)

4. AGAINST ($1 billion in bonds for state facilities)
Libertarians support less spending on state facilities, not more.

5. AGAINST (Tax incentives for downtown revitalization programs)
This would shift the tax burden onto non-downtown property owners.
Libertarians oppose giving privileged status to politically popular
sectors, although we strongly support reducing taxes across the board.

6. No position (Tax exemptions for personal vehicles used for business)

7. FOR (Eminent domain buy-back rights)
This would provide a small amount of protection in some cases. However,
the 2007 legislature failed to pass stronger protections against
eminent domain, and this is a perfect case where politicians are likely to
mislead voters by claiming they support eminent domain reform more than
they really do.

8. No position (Home equity loan regulations)

9. No position (Disabled veteran tax exemptions)

10. FOR (Abolish office of inspector of hides and animals)
Libertarians support eliminating the obsolete minor office of Inspector
of Hides and Animals. We wish this amendment would also eliminate the
State Board of Education, which would represent a real cut in
government.

11. FOR (Require record votes on bill passage)
This would allow voters to actually find out how their representatives
voted on final passage of a bill. More accountability is good.

12. AGAINST ($5 billion in bonds for Texas Transportation Commission)
The government already does a terrible job of spending transportation
tax dollars, and we should not provide new revenue sources.

13. No position (Denial of bail to some offenders)

14. FOR (Permit judges who reach mandatory retirement age to serve out
their terms)
Let elderly judges work if they want to.

15. AGAINST ($3 billion for a Cancer Research Institute)
Medical research is not a legitimate function of government. Funding
for medical research should stay in the private sector. There is plenty
of profit motive in seeking patents for drugs and medical devices, and
if that weren't enough, there is also a great deal of funding provided
by voluntary charitable donations.

16. AGAINST ($250 million in bonds for water development to poor
unincorporated colonias)
Developers build neighborhoods without providing and paying for
infrastructure like water, then want other taxpayers to pay for water and
wastewater services for their developments. Wrong. Development should pay
for itself without outside tax subsidies.

Early voting starts October 22 and ends November 2. Election day is
Tuesday, November 6.

Texas LP says “No on 15”

The Libertarian Party of Texas formally opposes a measure on the Nov 6
statewide ballot.

The measure is listed as Proposition 15 on the Nov 6 ballot. It is a
proposed amendment to the Texas constitution that passed the state
legislature in the bill HJR 90 and will be presented to the voters for
ratification in the Nov 6 election.

The proposal would take $3 billion from Texas taxpayers to create a new
state bureaucracy to work on cancer research.

State Chair Pat Dixon says, “We understand the need for research to
cure all forms of disease, pain, and suffering. We do not think that
politicians should decide for us what research is most deserving and use
coercion to make us pay. We are concerned for the many organizations that
accept voluntary donations to help fight these diseases. By increasing
the tax burden, this constitutional amendment would take away
discretionary funds from donors.”

The constitutional amendment was passed in the Texas legislature with
support from both Republican and Democrat legislators and with the
backing of Republican governor Rick Perry. A companion bill HB 14 which
enables the funding for this proposal was passed without a quorum of
legislators present, which is a violation of the Texas constitution.

Dixon added, “The history of government bureaucracies like this is that
you are lucky if half of the money is spent on what was promised. The
result will be a higher tax burden for families suffering from higher
appraisals on their property taxes while hurting existing foundations
that solicit funds to conduct medical research.”

creation of this $3 billion state agency, which can be seen at

Letter from the Chair

Wes and I have been traveling the state for the past 8 weeks to meet
with you. The experience has been great and it has been a success.
There are a few locations where turnout was light. In Sherman nobody
showed up. In Midland we had one husband and wife attend. However we had
good turnouts in Amarillo, Abilene, and Lubbock, as well as Corpus
Christi and Brownsville. We now have a sense of where we have active
supporters and where we don’t.

Our staff of Wes and Art is gearing up for a very busy period. The
recruiting process will be complete by the end of the year by state law,
so that means a lot of paperwork and correspondence needs to be handled
in the next 2 months. I can tell you that these guys work very long
days and there is never enough time to get everything done.

Last year our state committee (SLECT) allocated some additional funds
in the budget for a third staff position. At one time in 2006 we had 3
people on staff, but for most of 2007 we have only had 2. We are
looking at the possibility of bringing a third person on to help handle the
load we expect through a busy 2008 campaign season. We will need to
raise additional funds to cover the funding for our staff in 2008.

SLECT will discuss these issues and others at our meeting in Austin on
Nov 10.

MUST statement on sports minister's comments re: ticket prices and ACS
Comments made by Sports Minister, Gerry Sutcliffe, with regard to the huge
increases in ticket prices (50% since the Glazers took over) and the
unfairness of the Compulsory Automatic Cup Scheme (ACS) are something that
will strike a chord with many Manchester United supporters and certainly a
huge majority of MUST members judging by early results from our own survey
on this issue.

MUST also agrees with Sir Alex Ferguson's comments that this is not an
exclusive problem to Manchester United as it actually affects supporters of
all Premier League clubs and indeed down through the leagues too. However
it is of little comfort to our members to know that supporters of other
clubs are also having their loyalty exploited to an equal or even worse
degree because, if they want to watch their team, loyal supporters have no
choice but to pay the price. When you compare the price of tickets for the
big English clubs like United & Chelsea with their European counterparts
like Barcelona & Bayern Munich it is obvious that supporters in this
country are being taken for granted and ripped-off.

Everyday we are hearing more and more stories of how long term hard-core
supporters, many having given over 30 years of support to their club, are
being 'priced out' of football. It is of little consolation to these United
supporters to hear that there are excess applications for tickets
(something we'd like to see hard evidence of following the phantom season
ticket "waiting list" that is still being touted around and the swathes of
empty seats often visible at Old Trafford "sell outs"). Is Manchester
United (or more likely the Glazers) really sending out a message to loyal
United supporters saying "we have 10,000 excess applications per game so
your previous loyalty is now irrelevant, pay the increased prices or we'll
replace you with someone who will"?

This is a situation that needs to be addressed immediately and it's
refreshing that Government ministers are taking on board the hardships that
are being faced by premiership supporters up and down the country. The
first step is recognition of the problem and we are grateful to the new
sports minister for having the courage to highlight this issue but now we
need action before more damage is done to the hard core of support at our
clubs. There is an increasingly urgent need for the Government to put in
place regulation of football ticket prices to prevent loyal supporters
being exploited by what are effectively monopoly suppliers. This has been
done in many industries where consumers are at the mercy of a single
supplier and certainly that is the case in football where a Manchester
United supporter is hardly likely to switch to Manchester City (albeit an
inferior "product") because the tickets are cheaper.

It is the responsibility of the press to be objective with regard to the World Cup Preparations for 2010. Local Organizations and FIFA have given South Africa a clean bill of health. Anyway this is the first time an African Nation has hosted such an event and South Africa must be given an opportunity.

Lampard and Bridges have confirmed that Chelsea is recovering from the trauma of the upheavals of the Great One’s Departure.

It cannot be denied that even though many did not have hope for Chelsea, it appears that Chelsea has defied all odds and has shown its true colours.

Chelsea has shown itself to be like the Phoenix arising from the ashes of doubt [I myself had them] to reach great proportions in the Premier League. There is no doubt that there could be a possibility of winning the Premiership or at least make a great impression.

Kucinich was the same person who was Mayor of Cleveland from 1977-1979. I can talk since I am from Ohio and was around almost at that era. Kucinich was elected as the Boy Wonder Mayor of Cleveland in 1977 and according to the Plain Dealer and gurus of the Cleveland Media, he was possessed with extraordinary powers far more than the average person.

During his period as Mayor, Cleveland went into bankruptcy since he did not want to sell Money Losing Muny Light. He also insulted all of his opponents and the media. His period was one of the Mafia sending hitmen to kill him either in a Columbus Day Parade or when he threw the first ball at the Cleveland Indian Stadium.

Kucinich was also famous for firing his Police Chief during the 6:00 News. This is how it happened, he called a Press Conference. In response; the Cleveland Media as well as Police, Ohio National Guard, Labor Unions, and the Hare Krishna came to hear words of wisdom from the Boy Wonder. They were deceived because he used his Press Conference to fire his Police Chief. I think the name of the Police Chief was Hongisto.

Businesses left Cleveland and Ohio for warmer pastures in the Southern and Western Areas of America and beyond. When the business people were at the part of the highway that said: "You are Leaving Cleveland, have a safe trip", the turned around and screamed: "KU SON OF A BITCH" and left for good.

After insulting every living thing in Ohio, he started to wear a bullet proof vest and surround himself with bodyguards and New Age Seekers. After he lost the Election for Mayor of Cleveland in 1979, his photo never hung in City Hall. He also spent the next fifteen years between Ohio, New Mexico, and California trying to get in touch with his "inner self". The New Seekers were there to help him get in touch with his "inner self". He was eventually able to get in touch with his "inner self" and go back to politics.

Regardless, he still has problems connecting with his "inner self". I resolved my "inner self" problems in the winter of 1977. January 1977: There was extremely cold weather in Cleveland Ohio. I was at a supermarket buying cough and fever medication and had to form a line like everyone else. I was working as a Newspaper Boy and behind me [in the line] was Kucinich and a Dog Catcher who was a Spanish Republican in a previous life. [Spanish Republicans were the Communists who destroyed Churches and killed innocent people during the Spanish Civil War in the 1930's before Franco came to power.]

Back to the story, Kucinich and the Dog Catcher were filled with the patience of a Britney Spears. After I bought the cold and fever medicine, Kucinich gave me the middle finger and the Dog Catcher screamed every foul word in Spanish. My response was to get in touch with "my inner self" and I let out a fart. The Supermarket announced an evacuation, Kucinich [along with the dog catcher] complained that their clothes reeked of methane. The public thought that a nuclear war was imminent. The Supermarket Manager disinfected the market with Lysol.

Again, Kucinich with the Dog Catcher were complaining about the methane smell on their clothes. My response: "Thanks for helping me get in touch with my inner self".
