I SUPPORT THE WRITER'S GUILD STRIKE
As a writer, I am in support of the Writer’s Guild of America Strike. It appears that the Writer’s Guild of America is the Weak Spot of Hollywood and the Entertainment Industry in America.
For too long, Hollywood and the Entertainment Industry has been self centered with the big stars receiving the big money while the writers who have families of their own receive the crumbs from the tables of Hollywood Executives, Stars, and those of the upper echelon in Hollywood and the US Entertainment Industry.
While it is understandable that the actions taken by the Writer’s Guild of America may affect television shows, Broadway Plays, and even late night comedy; the Writers have a right to strike in order to receive their fair share of the salary in Hollywood. While most people are asleep, it takes a writer in Hollywood and the US Entertainment time to think of a concept, write it down on paper or on a computer screen only to have the star, the producer, or the director change his or her mind a thousand times before reaching a “perfection” that will never exist.
After all is said and done, the elite in the US Entertainment Industry is never grateful to the writer. The Credits as well as the High Salaries go to the Stars and Directors. The One Liners belong to the Comedian or the Politicians instead of the writers. Even Ellen De Generes could not do any jokes because of the Writer’s Strike. Maybe she refused to support the strike. Maybe she is dependent on her writers.
Eva Longoria [even though her role in Desperate Housewife is a disgrace] was able to show her inner as well as outer beauty when she distributed pizza to the strikers. Eva Longoria is very intelligent as well. She is aware that without the writers, Desperate Housewives would be off the air, and she would have to find another job modeling.
Jay Leno and David Letterman have threatened to take action against those who are in the strike [or at least that has been rumoured]. Both shows have had to broadcast pre recorded programmes of the past secondary to the strike.
Whatever happens, I SUPPORT THE STRIKE BY THE WRITER’S GUILD OF AMERICA SINCE THEIR WRITERS ARE MY FAMILY. AS A WRITER, MY FELLOW WRITERS HAVE MY SUPPORT, MY THOUGHTS, AND PRAYERS.

FROM THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY:
Libertarian Party Criticizes Employment Non-Discrimination Act of 2007
Says bill limits the rights of private business owners
Quick Quotes:
Shane Cory, Executive Director, Libertarian Party
• "Private businesses should have the freedom to decide who is best for the job--not the government."
• "It is not the role of the government to dictate to private businesses who they can and can't hire. This is the whole purpose of keeping government out of the private sector."
• "It's quite hypocritical of the government to tell private businesses not to discriminate while maintaining 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' in the military."
Washington, D.C. – The Libertarian Party criticized the Employment Non-Discrimination Act of 2007, which passed the House last week by a vote of 235 to 184, saying the bill violates the rights of private businesses. The bill seeks to prohibit discriminatory hiring practices by private businesses based on sexuality. "Private businesses should have the freedom to decide who is best for the job--not the government," says Libertarian Party Executive Director Shane Cory.
The Act, marked H.R. 3685 and sponsored by Rep. Barney Frank [D-MA], passed the House last Wednesday and may see floor action this week in the Senate. The bill would exempt religious institutions and the U.S. military; however, religious retail stores were not included in the exemption.
"It is not the role of the government to dictate to private businesses who they can and can't hire," says Cory. "This is the whole purpose of keeping government out of the private sector. A business owner knows what people are best for the job, and he should have the power to hire them. The government should not be there to tell him otherwise. If this Act passes, are we going to have Christian book stores forced to hire a homosexual employee despite a potential ideological conflict?"
The Libertarian Party platform opposes all intervention by government into the area of economics that doesn't seek to protect property rights, adjudicate disputes or provide a legal framework in which voluntary trade is protected.
"There is going to be a fundamental disconnect between what the government says and does regarding the treatment of individuals if this Act passes with the military exemption intact," Cory concluded. "It's quite hypocritical of the government to tell private businesses not to discriminate while maintaining 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' in the military."
The Libertarian Party is America's third largest political party, founded in 1971 as an alternative to the two main political parties. You can find more information on the Libertarian Party by visiting www.lp.org. The Libertarian Party proudly stands for smaller government, lower taxes and more freedom.

WEBSITE BUYS FOOTBALL CLUB/SITIO CIBERNETICO ADQUIERE CLUB DE FUTBOL
Football has undergone a revolution with the takeover of Ebbsfleet United by My Football Club.
The Football Fans Website MyFootballClub has agreed to pay 700,000 Pound Sterlings with members paying 35 Pound Sterling each. They will decide the future of Ebbsfleet United.
As a football fan, Roberto welcomes the idea of a football supporter website owning a football club. Some may have talked about the feasibility of such an experiment but it is a great idea.
Scarborough Athletic has a trust based on their supporters and it is hoped that one day supporters of Manchester United could use the Phoenix Fund to recover what was taken away from them by Glazer and company.
More power to football fans and clubs such as Scarborough Athletic and Ebbsfleet United.
A Thanksgiving Message from Watada
"The war in Iraq is in fact illegal. It is my obligation and my duty to refuse any orders to participate in this war. An order to take part in an illegal war is unlawful in itself. So my obligation is not to follow the order to go to Iraq." - Lt. Ehren Watada
On Thursday, November 8th, supporters of Lt. Watada rejoiced to learn of the preliminary injunction issued by U.S. District Court Judge Benjamin Settle to halt any further court martial proceedings of Lt. Ehren Watada until the conclusion of the habeas corpus proceedings.
The court held that Lt. Watada is likely to succeed at demonstrating that the military judge acted 'irrationally, irresponsibly, precipitately' and abused his 'discretion,' that the judge failed to consider feasible alternatives to a mistrial and there was no good reason for having stopped the trial in February, 2007.
Incredibly, the Army has announced its intent to file briefs in U.S. District Court to try to prevent the injunction from becoming permanent.
Friends and Family of Lt. Watada encourage Watada supporters everywhere to organize vigils on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month until Lt. Watada is discharged from the Army.
LET'S MAKE THE NOVEMBER 17TH VIGIL ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE AND SEND A CLEAR MESSAGE -- IT'S TIME FOR THE ARMY TO DROP THE CHARGES AGAINST LT. WATADA, AND IT'S TIME FOR MAINSTREAM MEDIA, ORGANIZATIONS & PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN THE CONSTITUTION TO SPEAK OUT:
• No 2nd court martial for Lt. Watada!
• Drop all charges against Lt. Watada!
• Release Lt. Watada and grant him an honorable discharge!
The season of Thanksgiving is the optimum time for us to express appreciation and stand tall with Lt. Ehren Watada. He remains the single military officer to very publicly oppose the war. Lt. Watada stated his reasons clearly and each day exhibits great courage in his lonely military environment.
For his act of conscience in refusing to deploy to Iraq, the military tried him once unsuccessfully. By attempting to convene a second trial, they violate his rights under the 5th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which protects any constituent -- military or civilian -- from being tried twice for the same charges, when the reason for ending the trial was arbitrary and an abuse of judicial discretion.
We thank Lt. Watada for remaining steadfast in his belief that the Iraq War is illegal and unconstitutional. Metaphorically, he is the lone person standing before the tank. As Lt. Watada continues to be prosecuted, let us tell him and the world that he is recognized. He is appreciated, and he is not alone.
At this time of Thanksgiving, keep Lt. Watada's case alive and vital! Send a note of thanks to acknowledge his true patriotism and ethical, responsible understanding of duty as a citizen and as a military officer.
