Juan Sebastian Bach nacio en el pueblo de Eisenach, Saxe Eisenach y era el hijo menor del organista Juan Ambrosio Bach y su esposa Maria Isabel Lammerhirt Bach. Juan Sebastian Bach era el heredero de una familia de musicos. Desgracidamente, murieron sus padres siendo un ni~no de diez a~nos y fue criado por su hermano. El hermano de Bach era organista y no queria que su hermano siguiera en su trayectoria. El joven Bach aprovechaba las noches con su hermano durmiendo para copiar algunas piezas de su hermano para escribir partituras. Aunque fue una ventaja que logro ayudarlo conseguir una beca para la Escuela de San Miguel [1699-1703] cerca de Hamburgo, este acto lo llevaria a la ceguera en sus ultimos a~nos.

Despues de su graduacion de la Escuela de San Miguel, Bach consiguio trabajo en Weimar y Arnstadt [1703-1717] donde gozo de un presitigio mayor, una esposa, y una multitude de hijos. Fue en la epoca de Weimar y Arnstadt donde comenzo a componer musica para organo y contrapunto [varias melodias en uno]. Bach siguio en Weimar y Arnstadt hasta conseguir otro puesto en Cothen [1717-1723].

En Cothen, trabajo como director musical bajo la supervision de Principe Leopoldo de Anhlat Cothen. Bach tuvo que hacer compromisos musicales debido a la tendencia calvinista del Principe. A pesar de eso, logro escribir los Conciertos de Brandenburgo que sigue como pieza principal de las obras de Bach. En 1723, Bach consiguio un puesto en la ciudad de Leipzig y entro en el centro de la tormenta entre los monarquicos [que lo apoyaban] y la burguesia/sindicatos [que lo odiaba]. Bach recibio el trabajo bajo las condiciones que sera sometido a los deseos de la burguesia/sindicatos.

Johann Sebastian Bach was born in 1685 in Eisenach, Saxe Eisenach and was the youngest son of a church organist Johann Ambrosius Bach and his wife Maria Elizabetha Lammerhirt Bach. Johann Sebastian Bach was born into a long line of organists and musicians. When his parents died, he was left under the care of his older brother who was willing to use him as an assistant only. Bach's Older Brother was an organist and he did not want Johann Sebastian Bach as an organist. Johann Sebastian Bach would study the organ pieces of his brother and write copies for himself under the cover of night while his brother was asleep. This eventually would lead him to be blind.

Regardless of the obstacles, Bach was awarded a choral scholarship at the age of fourteen to the prestigious St Michael's School close to Hamburg. It was during his scholarship that he came in contact with the different styles of baroque music which was the order of the day in his era. He mastered most of the works of composers, learned Latin, and studied with future leaders and composers of his generation. He graduated from St Michael's School in 1703 and went to work in Weimar and Arnstadt where he began to work in earnest in organ compositions and contrapuntal techniques [simultaneous interaction of two or more melodies]. Except for a brief period at Mulhausen, he was at Arnstadt and Weimar where he enjoyed great prestige. This period in Bach's life was to continue until 1717 when he was offered the musical position at Cothen.

It was at Cothen where he worked in the position of music director. Since he was under the service of Prince Leopold of Anhalt Cothen and the Prince was of the Calvinist Religion, Bach had to conform and not use elaborate music. It was during this period that he wrote the Six Suites for Cello, The Brandenburg Concertos, and the Sonata and Partitas for Violin. He continued in Cothen until he applied for and was hired at Leipzig. It was a decision that he would later regret.

In Leipzig, Bach was at the centre of the storm between those who supported his candidacy [such as the monarchists] and the City State [which was composed of the mercantile class, minor aristocracy, and trade union] which opposed his candidacy but accepted Bach after being awarded full control of the political machinery of culture department in Leipzig. The City State Functionaries had such disdain for Bach that they commented: "We wanted Telemann but we had to settle for second best". It was not surprising since the City State did not appreciate the finest things in art but were willing to impose bureaucratic controls based on their jealousy and envy. Bach tried to find work elsewhere including Danzig and Konigsberg [now Kaliningrad] but this was not to be. Bach spent his last years in Leipzig marginalized by the City State and then died of pneumonia and complications from a botched eye surgery.

Maybe Bach is not with us but his music is with us especially the Brandenburg Concertos, and The Six Suites for Cello [which have been interpreted by Casals and Rostropovich]. Leipzig later was to honour Bach with a status after his death. Germany during its reunification was the scene of many concerts dedicated to Bach's Music since Bach's Music reflects the spirit of freedom and a spirituality that has never been duplicated since his time.

In preparations for the upcoming game between the United States and Mexico and to honour African American Soccer Players in African American History Month in February 2008, I have decided to write about the life, time, and career of two people who have earned a place in the history of US Soccer [Football]. Their names are Cobi Jones, and Oguchi Onyewu.

I. COBI JONES

Cobi Jones is a retired midfielder who works as an Assistant Coach of the Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS. Cobi Jones was born in Detroit Michigan in the USA on the 16th of June in 1970. He started his soccer [football] career at UCLA in 1988 and continued until 1991. In 1992, he started his professional career by playing in the following teams Coventry City, Vasco Da Gama, and finally the Los Angeles Galaxy until his retirement at the end of 2007. During his 15 year professional career, Cobi Jones scored 79 goals in 333 appearances and was the recipient of the Most Valued Player Award in 1998. Cobi Jones was also the recipient of the Golden Boot Award for 1998, 1999, and 2000.

Cobi Jones played for the United States National Soccer [Football] Team from 1992 to 2004. One of his biggest accomplishments for the United States National Soccer [Football] Team was as the All Time Leader in the Men’s Team with the most appearances. He also scored 15 goals in 164 appearances. Cobi Jones participated in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona Spain, the 1994, 1998, and 2002 FIFA World Cup. He also participated in the 2002 CONCACAF Gold Cup with the US Team victorious in this tournament.

After his retirement from professional soccer [football], Cobi Jones was chosen as Assistant Coach for the Los Angeles Galaxy.

II. OGUCHI ONYEWU

Oguchi Onyewu was born in Washington DC to Nigerian Parents in 1982 and is a defender for the Standard Liege and the US Soccer [Football] Team. He started his Soccer [Football] Career with the Clemson Tigers before becoming a professional in the year 2002. After the year 2002, he played with Metz, La Louviere, Standard Liege, and Newcastle United with 11 goals in 131 appearances.

Oguchi Onyewu has also been a defender for the United States National Soccer [Football] Team since 2004 making his first appearance in the USA VS Panama Game. Oguchi Onyewu has played in the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup where he scored an extraordinary first goal against Honduras. His efforts lead him in being named twice to the Belgian League Best XI and once as Foreign Player of the Year in 2005. Oguchi Onyewu participated in the 2006 FIFA World Cup and was doing well in the game against Ghana until a referee unfairly expelled him. Regardless, Oguchi Onyewu was the first defender since Alexis Lalas to be voted as US Soccer Athlete of the Year in 2006.

En EEUU, los Republicanos y los Democratas han ido radicalizando. Como Libertario, soy marginado en la politica. Veo como los Republicanos y Democratas utilizaron el tema de la inmigracion para fomentar el odio hacia los latinos [incluyendo los latinos nacidos en EEUU]. Con su politica, los Republicanos y Democratas lograron acentuar las tensiones etnicas y ideologicas dentro de los EEUU que se puede resolver reemplazando a los Republicanos y Democratas con los Libertarios o una disolucion lenta de los EEUU [mediante las vias pacificas]. La otra posibilidad es que los Republicanos y Democratas pueden dejar la demagogia y comienza con la gobernacion del pais.

Como Latino nacido en EEUU, considero importante la necesidad de la comunidad latina en ejercer su voto. Nosotros no podemos tolerar mas atropellos contra nuestra persona, nuestra dignidad, nuestra familia, nuestra tradiciones, y nuestra nacion latina. Incluso hemos tenido una presencia fuerte en los EEUU cien a~nos antes de la llegada de los anglo sajones [los denominados "americanos"]. Fuimos fundadores de la primera ciudad en EEUU [San Agustin en los 1500's].

El llamado Super Martes es importante en cuanto a que la gente deben acudir a las urnas. Pero la cobertura del Super Martes fue dedicado unica y exclusivamente a los Republicanos y Democratas. A las 11:00PM Hora de Miami, vi los Primarios de los Libertarios de Missouri. Root resulto ganador de las Primarias del Partido Libertario en Missouri con Kubby en segundo lugar y Phillies en Tercer Lugar.

REPUDIO A LAS FARC

La red cibernetica es la herramienta del cambio que nadie quiere reconocer. Los que son familiar con la red cibernetica como las FARC, Comunistas, Republicanos, y Democratas quieren reprimirlo. Queria decir que la FARC es una organizacion terrorista [como los demas de la izquierda y derecha]. Incluso, las FARC deben ser enjuiciado por usar menores como escudos en su "Guerra Sucia". Las FARC [junto con otros grupos politicos] deben ser enjuiciado por crimenes contra la humanidad.

EL PROXIMO DESASTRE?

Creo que el proximo desastre sera una combinacion de la naturaleza y el ser humano. No estamos preparado para ese proximo desastre.

APOYO A LOS EEUU EN EL FUTBOL

This has been an ongoing report on what has transpired in the Missouri Libertarian Party Primary during Super Tuesday 2008. Since the mainstream media did not mention the Libertarian Party, I have taken on the mantle to do so. There is a contradiction when a society that proclaims freedom throughout the world does not report the Primaries of other parties. The Bad People win when the Good People do nothing. Those who do nothing while the Bad People commit crimes are accomplices.

While attention has been placed on the Republicans and Democrats, the Libertarians had their primary in Missouri. At the present time, according to the official web page of the State of Missouri website with 79 of 3371 precincts reporting, 5th of February 2008@7:52PM Missouri Time, Kubby is in first place with 13% followed by Root at 11.6%, and Phillies at 10.1%.

According to the Official Web page of the State of Missouri, with 380 of 3,371 precincts reporting [Libertarian Primary], [5th of February 2008 at 8:21PM Missouri Time], Root is now in first place with 18.4% followed by second place Kubby with 10.5% and Phillies in third place with 8.6%.

The State of Missouri Election Web page [5th of February 2008 at 8: 52 PM Missouri Time] [1175 of the 3371 precincts] reporting the following results for the Libertarian Primaries with Root still in first place with 113 votes or 16.5% followed by Kubby with 67 votes or 9.8% and Phillies with 63 votes or 9.2%

Results from the State of Missouri Web page [5th of February 2008 at 9:14PM Missouri Time with 1528 of the 3371 precincts and a total of 577,267 votes in Missouri] show Root maintaining the lead with 141 votes or 16.7% followed by Kubby with 80 votes or 9.5% and Phillies with 77 votes or 9.1%.

State of Missouri Election Website for the Libertarian Primaries [5th of February 2008 at 9:29PM Missouri Time with 1787 of the 3371 precincts counted and 688,622 votes] shows Root maintaining his first place with 181 votes or 18.1%, Kubby maintaining second place with 90 votes or 9.0%, and Phillies with 82 votes or 8.2%. For those who may say Alvarez Galloso has "another angle", I would like to say that while I am Libertarian; it would be great to give coverage to the Libertarian Party Primary in Missouri since the Mainstream Media are not covering their results.
