PAZ ENTRE FRONTERAS: SI!!!!!!!

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-03-16 - 20:55:34

No War In Iraq

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-03-16 - 20:41:54

This matter of winning the "surge" in Iraq is a simple deal. Similar to what we do here with farmers. We paid farmers not to grow a crop. In Iraq we just brought into the Army 's payroll 91,000 insurgents that have had tides with Al Qaeda. Each insurgent receives around $300 a months, to do what? Simple, to grow no mischief, meaning to leave our soldiers along, as wells other Iraqis. If you can not beat them, just bring them to the fold, brave them with money and forget that these same insurgents have American blood in their hands. Very simple, as President Bush 1,2, and 3 steps dancing in the White House Portico.
Now what do you think that these new "Welfare Kings" will do when the gravy train stops? Go back to the same old business of attacking American forces in Iraq.. Senator McCain says that the "surge" is working. I wonder if the "surge" is working because, we just added 91,000 former insurgents to the American welfare rolls. I wonder why journalist do not ask Senator McCain about these new "Welfare Kings".?

Christians Against the Iraq War

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-03-16 - 20:41:25

Next week will mark five years since the United States invaded Iraq. We all lament the suffering and violence that continue after these five heartbreaking years.
To commemorate this anniversary, many Sojourners board members are joining with me to issue a statement calling on the U.S. church to repent for the war and to commit ourselves to a new path toward peace.

Would you join us in signing it? Just click here.

We all share in responsibility for a war that has been waged in our names and with our tax dollars. The fact that fewer U.S. soldiers have died in recent months doesn't change the fact that this war should never have been waged. Our country should end this war, not try to "win" it, and we must help the Iraqi people build a safer and more peaceful country.
And so, in this season of Lent, I believe the time has come for us to repent for the Iraq war. But repentance means more than just being sorry. It means admitting that the course we have been on is wrong and committing to begin walking in a new direction - starting with an end to the U.S. occupation of Iraq.

Support for U.S. wars and foreign policy is still the area where Christians are most "conformed to this world" (Romans 12:2). We must commit to put our love for Christ ahead of obedience to a misguided government and ask our brothers and sisters to join us in working for peace.

That's why we've put together a statement that issues a call to the U.S. church to lament and repent of the sin of this war. We're planning to promote that call widely to Christian audiences of all theological and political stripes.

So far it's been signed by friends like Brian McLaren, Mary Nelson, Richard Rohr, Barbara Williams Skinner, and Ron Sider. But we don't just want prominent leaders to sign on - we want you.

If everyone receiving this e-mail signed the statement and recruited friends, family, and congregation members to do the same, we could show that millions of ordinary Christians are seeking a world in which our Lord "guides our feet into the path of peace" (Luke 1:79).
Click here to read and sign the statement lamenting and repenting of the Iraq war.
I hope you'll join us in committing to pray and work for peace.

Blessings,

Jim Wallis and the rest of the team at Sojourners

P.S. We're planning to publicize this statement widely, including placing advertisements in Christian media - can you make a donation to help get the word out?

Atlas 2-2 Pumas [ES]

ATLAS 2- 2 PUMAS

Geraldine Ferraro Foot In The Mouth Disease

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-03-16 - 18:53:18

Geraldine Ferraro has done more to divide the United States of America as well as Barack Obama with their racial and ethnic overtones. It is the United States Elite that accuses the Latins of ethnic division yet the African Americans and the White Anglo Saxons and in the case of Geraldine Ferraro [an Italian American] who caused the divisions. It reminds me of the time I was accepted by the University of Akron Ohio in 1980. The Guidance Counselor told me: “We accepted you because you were born in Ohio and we need to fill our quota of Latins and we refused the applicants from Costa Rica and Nicaragua.” My response was to tell him: “I accepted going to the University of Akron because I could not go to the University of Miami in Florida”.

The attitude of Geraldine Ferraro reminded me of the time I appeared before the Board of Medicine in Florida for a temporary Physician Assistant License and was told: “When you immigrated from the Dominican Republic”. My response was to say “I was born in Ohio”. Regardless, I received the temporary Physician Assistant License although I did not use it. When I was going to be accepted for a hospital residency training in Akron Ohio of all places, the people said the same thing and my response was: “I do not need your patronizing. I am proud of being born in Ohio and of my ethnicity but I believe that the important thing is to be a professional person. If you do not like this and love to comment about race and ethnicity, take your state and shove it. Also, I am a Libertarian”. I parted ways but with dignity.

I was thinking about Geraldine Ferraro and her demeaning remarks toward Barack Obama. It is because of Geraldine Ferraro and her patronizing attitude that we have the problems that exist. Geraldine Ferraro is just a frustrated woman who could not become a Vice President and was a mediocre candidate for Vice President in the same vein that Walter Mondale was a mediocre candidate for President. I would like to thank Geraldine Ferraro, Hillary Clinton [who did not defend Geraldine Ferraro] and all of the Republicans and Democrats for making race and ethnicity an issue. It is because of the Republicans and Democrats of today that I reject the Republicans and Democrats in favour of the Libertarian Party.

I challenge the American People to reject the Anti American Antics of the Republicans and Democrats and vote for a true American Party called the Libertarian Party which accepts people for what they are, encourages people to practice their lifestyle without inhibitions, and to live without government programmes such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security which is a form of slavery in the economic sense. As for the Republicans and Democrats [the leadership including Geraldine Ferraro], they should check themselves into a psychiatric institution and receive one thousand milligrams of Haloperidol Decanaote in each Gluteus Cheek to calm them down since they must be suffering from a psychiatric meltdown.

We must discuss the infrastructure, our health care system, our eduction system, and everything else that has failed in the United States of America including the war on drugs and the war against terrorism which are failures. It is time to replace the Republicans and Democrats with the Libertarians.

Atlas 2-2 Puma [EN]

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-03-16 - 18:52:25

Roberto had the honour of witnessing the Atlas VS Pumas game transmitted live from Jalisco in Mexico by the US Latin TV Station Telefutura. It was a game filled with high expectations for both teams on 15th of March 2008.

The first half started with a red card at six minutes for Jimenez for unprofessional behaviour and a booking at eight minutes for Marioni for the same reasons. Jimenez and Marioni were players of Atlas and the conditions were created for the first goal by Solari for Pumas at ten minutes within the game. It was after this goal that Pumas was in total possession of the game. Solari scored the first goal by doing a direct kick into the right area of the net and surprising Atlas. After the first goal, the referees were starting to behave unprofessionally with arbitrary bookings of Rubero and Canturion. Solari was able to score a second goal at twenty eight minutes by a penalty and via a direct kick into the left area of the net with a surprised Atlas Goalkeeper with his empty hands and open mouth. It was not the way to go with Pumas possessing the game but Atlas had other tricks up its sleeve. The first half ended with Pumas winning Atlas 2 to 0.

The second half of the game was the time for Atlas and Marioni to restore their pride. Atlas recovered the possession of the game with the first goal by Omar Flores at forty seven minutes. Atlas started surprising Pumas with its play by play action as well as its discipline, tenacity, and direction. Marioni received his sweet revenge after his humiliating first half booking by scoring an equalizer at ninety three minutes. Afterwards, attempts by Puma and Atlas to win were unable to reach fruition since the game ended. Regardless, this was a game that was exciting and full of life. Atlas and Puma gave the spectators in Jalisco Mexico as well as the television audience a game of a near lifetime from the Mexican League. It was worth being able to stay up late until almost 1:00 AM in order to enjoy the game and the match analysis. Marioni was able to prove to the public that receiving a booking was not a disappointment but an inconvenience that helped him to go to bigger and better things such as an equalizer for the Atlas Team
