by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-03-18 - 18:36:37

The Mexican Norte~na Group Los Horoscopos de Durango in an act of a humanitarian gesture gave away gasoline [petrol] in one of the service Petrol Stations In Houston Texas. I challenge the World Leaders including celebrities to do the same thing or at least do another act of humanity which will enlighten and help us.

Football Teams Appoint Coaches and Managers on the Basis of Merit

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-03-18 - 16:27:39

With all due respect to the people who think that soccer teams limit their success by appointing ex players, appointing ex players have their pros and cons. It all boils down to the individual. For example, no team would ever appoint someone like Diego Maradona who has excess baggage in spite of his professional victories. Examples worth mentioning have been China, the Kurd Stars FC, Africa, and Iran.

China appointed Bora Multinovic as their national coach taking into account the experience he had. Multinovic may not have won the 2002 World Cup for China but he was able to help China take football [soccer] to a new level. We should also take into consideration that China has been a success in itself by surprising the Football [Soccer] World with its victories in the 2007 Asian Cup. What Multinovic did was construct the bases for a better football [soccer] in China, what China did was improve itself and became known as a Football [Soccer] Powerhouse.

The Kurd Stars FC who is the only Kurdish Team to play in an English League has Kinan Midhad Kadir as their coach and Sarkhell Nawroly as its Chairman and Player. Kinan Midhad Kadir and Sarkhell Nawroly have brought the Kurd Stars FC to higher levels in football [soccer] as well as promoting Kurdish Football [Soccer] to the Kurdistan Olympic Committee, Kurdistan Football Association, and The Ministry of Sports and Youth of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Kurdistan of Iraq. Kinan Midhad Kadir and Sarkhell Nawroly have been able to promote Kurdish Football [Soccer] through their years of experience as ex player, player, as well as manager and coach. The Kurd Stars FC has managed to advance to the leagues in England, Kurdistan, and the remote areas of the world. They even gained a supporter in Miami Florida.

African Countries like Cameroon, Nigeria, Angola, and even Rwanda have had ex players from other countries as managers and coaches secondary to their experience in the field. Africa in the end has advanced in the World Cups and is expected to make a strong impression in the 2010 World Cup to be held in South Africa. For example, the coach of Cameroon who was an ex player for various German Teams whose name is Winfried Schafer took Cameroon to the near top of the African League. Winfried Schafer also managed to help instill discipline, tactics, continuity, and a pro active play into Cameroon that was instrumental in converting Cameroon into an African Powerhouse in Football [Soccer]. Winfried Schafer also asked Germany's Coach Rudi Volli to respect Cameroon as a team in a show of defiance against his country and in defence of the country that accepted him. This show of defence occurred in the preparations for the 2002 World Cup.

Cameroon was such a success that Press TV reported that Iran offered Winfried Schafer but what transpired was that nothing came to fruit and Iran finally offered the job of coach and manager to a trainer for Persepolis Tehran with experience as a player in Iranian Football [Soccer] named Afshin Qotbi. Whether Iran can progress to the 2010 World Cup is another matter. I think Iran will progress since Iran has chosen experienced players and trainers in the past to coach and manage its national team.

Football [Soccer] teams do not limit their success by restricting appointments of managers to ex players. Football [Soccer] teams appoint what they think is the best person who can help a team win or at least take a team to "higher levels" [using the quote by Joel Osteen].

For America, Vote Libertarian

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-03-18 - 15:30:30

It will simply be stupid for Senator Obama to say that he did not what his Minister was taking about because he was not at church when his Minister spoke with anti-American comments. Mitchell Obama comments reflect her minister’s thinking about America. It will be interesting to ask Ms. O. Winfrey her thoughts about the Minister comments. The republican attack machine will have a field day with the Minister’s comments. And the press/media have given Senator Obama a free ride. It is the “Minister Speech gate stupid.” The Republicans and Democrats say: “Forget the recession, health care, poverty, stagnant wages etc, and the other things that ail America.” After Labor Day it wills “Minister Wright’s” in Prime time 24/7 Congratulations to my republican friends. You got what you wanted, four more years of the same thing. Viva the McCain/Feingold ticket

PS: It does not have to be that way. The people of the United States have an option. The option is to vote against the Republicans and Democrats and vote for a Real American Political Party called the Libertarian Party. VOTE AMERICA, VOTE LIBERTARIAN!!!!!

Empty Chair Charlie Crist [State of the Union in Florida]

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-03-18 - 01:50:42

In the first month and a half of 2008, Governor Crist took off more week days than he worked – showing up less than 50% of the time.[Governor’s Public Schedule, Jan. 1-Feb. 13, 2008]
When Charlie Crist ran for Governor in 2006, he spent millions on infamous "Empty Chair" television ads to attack Democratic candidate Jim Davis. These ubiquitous ads, which featured an empty chair rolling along the streets of Washington, DC, were largely credited as Crist’s most memorable attack on Davis.
The Republican Party of Florida even brought back the “empty chair” concept to attack Democrats in late 2007.
Unfortunately for the people of Florida, the real empty chair – Charlie Crist – won.
These days, Floridians are more likely to see their Governor’s perpetually sunny face in the background of a McCain campaign press conference than working to deal with the state’s economic crisis.

Enough with Empty Chair Charlie Crist

In 2006, Charlie Crist ran for Governor on a populist platform, pledging to be the "People's Governor," offering glimpses off a bright future for Florida on the horizon.

But now we learn that he hasn't showed up for work even half of the time. Where is Charlie Crist when we need him? His fellow Republicans have run amok in the State Legislature. Empty Chair Charlie's absenteeism and lack of leadership is a disservice to all Floridians.

We've had enough of the endless electioneering and infinite photo ops. Contrary to GOP delusions, we're now mired in a Republican Recession. The Governor has been getting a free pass from the media, but his hypocrisy is apparent.

He said he would come to work every day, but he doesn't. And we've got real problems to deal with in Florida. I don't know about you, but I'm concerned about rising insurance costs and living in the state leading the housing industry meltdown. I make sacrifices every day to make sure I can provide for my family, pay for gas, and afford healthcare.

I'm certainly in a different position than Governor Crist. I don't have access to lavish private jets and can't define my own hours. But I do know the difference between hard work and hardly working.

I know Florida can't afford to adopt a three-day work week. Charlie Crist shouldn't be able to get away with doing so, especially considering his promise to work hard for the people.
