Zimbabwe Anglican Church Divided?

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-05-13 - 19:25:25

According to the BBC News Website, the turbulence in Zimbabwe has affected the Anglican Cathedral of St. Mary and All Saints [located in Harare, Zimbabwe] with some parishoners taking the side of Pro Mugabe Pro ZANU-PF Bishop Norbert Kunonga and others allying themselves with Bishop Sebsatian Bakare. The conflict within the Anglican Cathedral of St. Mary and All Saints started when the Anglican Leadership removed Bishop Kunonga from office for saying that "Mugabe is a Prophet of God". There have been those who go to the Church and have been assaulted by supporters of ZANU-PF for recognizing Bishop Bakare. It appears that the Anglican Cathedral of St. Mary and All Saints like Zimbabwe will become like the verse from Steve Miller's "Jet Airliner" of having to "go through hell before getting to heaven".
