I have decided to invite Dr. Michael Munger to be interviewed for the Alvarez Galloso News Hour. Dr. Michael Munger is the Libertarian Party Candidate for Governor of North Carolina and it is a pleasure and honour to have him in the News Hour.

1. What motivated you to run for Governor of North Carolina?

I have been a political scientist for nearly 25 years. I have testified before the U.S. Senate on campaign finance law, I have written books, and many articles about campaigns. But I have never seen a campaign from the inside. Then, once I started the campaign, I became very involved in the ballot access movement here. That is the most important
issue, I think. But there are other issues I care about, including ending corporate welfare and ending capital punishment in our state.

2. Why does North Carolina have such restrictive ballot access laws?

It is a way of protecting the Democratic elite in the state. They aren't worried about Libertarians. They just want to keep the Greens off the ballot. The legislative majority is deeply cynical, and duplicitous here, and they are "Democrats" in name only. Their main concern is power.

3. What are your plans for North Carolina as Governor?

North Carolina has long been a leader in education, and in creating new jobs for its people. But we are losing that lead, through government intrusion into private decisions, and attempts by politicians to interfere with the market. We need lower taxes and less regulation, more choice and responsibility in education, and a refocus on communication and transportation infrastructure.

4. What can the Libertarian Party offer North Carolina that the Republicans and Democrats are unable or unwilling to offer?

There is no real difference between the state-sponsored parties. Both depend on the state for their existence, using public financing and the public purse to pay off their supporters. Both the Democrats and Republicans run on slightly different versions of the same platform: "Vote for me, and I'll give you other peoples' money!" I would cut spending on make-work pork-barrel projects all over the state, increase the restrictive ceiling on charter schools, commute death sentences to life imprisonement without parole, and stop municipal aggression. North Carolina is one of only seven states that allows involuntary annexation by cities, and that has to be stopped. Cities should not be able to annex country folk against their will.

5. What has been the response of the people of North Carolina to the concepts of the Libertarian Party?

Unfortunately for our nation, this is a great time for the Libertarian party. The reason is that the state-sponsored parties are doing such an awful job of running the country. When people get a chance to hear me, and understand that I want them to have the power to run their OWN lives, and to take responsibility for their OWN choices, most are excited and interested.

Still, we have a long way to go. We have to get our message out, and we have to raise money to do it. It is a shame that we had to waste all our money on the ballot access drive. The point of the law is clearly to ensure that we arrive breathless at the starting line, having dissipated all our resources.

6. Many within the Republican and Democratic Party have considered a vote for the Libertarian Party a wasted vote, what is your response to these critics?

Many voters are worried about "throwing away their vote" on a party that can't win. But I know that if everyone who supports us privately would just vote for us publicly, we could win! Furthermore, voting for the lesser of two evils is the only way to REALLY waste your vote. There are so many votes that no one voter determines the outcome. So why not
vote for your heart?

7. What made you decide to become a Libertarian?

I was registered Republican for a long time. But the Republicans never followed through on their promise to change big government. In fact, the Republicans in Congress, and the Republican President George Bush, have dramatically expanded government in nearly every way. I have always thought of myself as a "small l" libertarian. But the war in Iraq, and the huge spending increases on pork-barrel projects by the Republican Congress, made me change my mind in 2003. I became a Libertarian after the war started, and the Republicans continued spending like drunken sailors on shore leave.

8. Since North Carolina has restrictive ballot access laws, what have the people of North Carolina done to attempt a change in these laws?

I have worked in court to change the law. I was an expert witness for the ACLU in a suit brought by the Green Party. That suit should be resolved in a week or two.
And we might just win!

9. Has the Munger Campaign or the Libertarian Party of North Carolina received any coverage from the Mainstream Media in your state or from any other media?

Lots! I have been on more than 20 television shows, and more than 40 radio shows. The newspapers in many of the major cities, including Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Durham, and Raleigh have all run lengthy features with pictures and background. I have no complaint about our treatment by the media. They have been quite fair.

10. How does the Munger Campaign feel at the present time?

Strong, and getting stronger. This is a great time to be a Libertarian. We are going places.

I would like to thank you Dr. Munger for taking the time to be interviewed Alvarez Galloso.

One On One With SUPERDELL

Another candidate I had the honour of interviewing for The Alvarez Galloso News Hour has been the Libertarian Candidate for Governor of Utah whose name is Dell Schanze or SUPERDELL. SUPERDELL is one of the few politicians who is no stranger to controversy in Utah and it is because he tells the truth. SUPERDELL has been kind enough to take time from his busy schedule to be interviewed so let us have the One On One With SUPERDELL.

1. What are the problems facing Utah with regards to Health Care, Immigration, Housing, Gasoline Prices, and Immigration?

Unrighteousness before God is the number one problem facing all governments throughout time. In reguards to your question it is people wanting something for nothing that is the problem. People want world class health care but don't want to pay for it, immigrants take advantage of resources they took no part in developing, Greedy Americans expect to make more than everyone else in the world without having to put forth the same effort for it and developers built way too may "American dream homes" for Americans that should have been working harder instead of dreaming. Americans horde the plentiful oil they have but then expect to control prices on imports. The problem is quite clear.

2. What would Dell Schanze do for Utah that is different from the other candidates for Governor of Utah with regards to Health Care, Immigration, Housing, Gasoline Prices, and Immigration?

I'm not for a socialist health care system, I haven't completely figured out the best way for it to work but I will consult with experts on this and figure it out. I'm obviously different because I tell the truth and don't profess to know everything. Immigration is great, give us your poor, your tired and your huddled masses. We'll give them freedom to work hard and earn their way like everyone else that is an immigrant to this country or a decendant of one. Immigrants are very humble and often extremely hard workers. If they break the law then they should get prosecuted. The problem is the horrible arrogance of Americans, evil discrimination, hatred and socialist systems that are not working. You can't force a minimum wage or you destroy an entire economy. A free system will work itself out. This country was built on a free system. As we have slowly reverted to socialism over the years it starts to go down the drain. Get back to what made this country great in the first place. Forcing one person to give their money to someone else is just evil. Trying to demand others to sell you gasoline at the price you want is futile. Make it yourself or shut up and live with it. Houses are not selling because arrogant Americans bit off way way more than they could chew. If houses were in the $80,000 range they would be selling like hot cakes. $750,000 houses not selling? doh. Americans can't expect to get paid more than the rest of the world without doing their equal share. We need manufacturing back in America, you can't do that trying to force $7.25 an hour when others in the world are willing to do it for less. We keep trying to force standards of life onto people that are NOT willing to work for them. It just doesn't work. We have allowed our manufacturing to be destroyed and have horribly weakened our country. Get back to a free economy and the constitution and all of these things will work themselves out. Welfare is unconstitutional and terribly bad for the poor. It makes it so easy to be lazy it just encorages it. Women sleep around just so they can have children they can use as leverage to attain pitty. Morality is gone and responsiblity for personal actions doesn't exsist. If you make horrible mistakes with your life then you should suffer the consequenses. No more forcing those that work hard to give their money to those that don't. There is no question I'm different, I'm an Amercian, not a socialist.

3. Have you or the Libertarian Party of Utah faced obstacles such as ballot access or being unable to participate in debates?

Yes, I have been ignored as a candidate in numerous ways. Lucky I'm the most recognizable person in Utah as can get my own attention.

4. How has the Libertarian Party of Utah been able to convey its message to the people of your great and beautiful state in spite of obstacles placed by the Republican and Democratic Party?

They haven't, the libertarian party made a mockery of themselves by trying to get me denied as a candidate. I only won by one vote. Instead of making a good impression they just humiliated themselves and made all libertarians look stupid.

5. According to your article: "Socialist Liberal Plot To Destroy Your Freedom", you said that 90% of the people of Utah believe in God but that there is a Socialist Agenda in Utah. How is that possible?

The socialists are the minority but have been working for years to gain control. They already control the media and use it to force their views on the rest of the state. They promote their candidates over and over with sideways positive image stories and completely slam the true Americans trying to make a difference.

6. How did you get the name SUPERDELL and will it be used in a future advertisement?

I used to ride superbikes, I flew off a 60 ft cliff once on a sunday ride and didn't hit the ground for 100 yards. I of course lived and somehow picked up the name SUPERDELL. The guy who can leap small buildings and live to tell about it. Yes I use the nickname in pretty much all my ads as it is very very well known in Utah since I've done all my own ads on TV and radio for 10 years.

7. You have filed to run for Mayor of Salt Lake City as a Republican and as Governor of Utah as a Libertarian? Is this permissible under the laws of Utah? How have you been able to balance being a Republican and a Libertarian?

I'm only filed to run as governor on the libertarian ticket. I first filed as a republican for county mayor but then withdrew. I filed because there were no other republican candidates at the time. When 2 others joined the race I was relieved to persue my original plan to run for governor. I am both republican and a libertarian but when running for governor I would have had to deal with the republican incumbant in the republican convention without much time to campaign so I ran as a libertarian as I was the only candidate and therefore pretty much assured to make the ballot.

8. How do you see Utah in the future if SUPERDELL and the Libertarian Party of Utah do not win?

Utah will continue freely down the path of socialism if I don't get elected. Blatant socialism. Our current governor has voted to raise taxes more than anyone previously as well as voted away our freedoms on so many new laws and restrictions I can't count them. I am Utah's ONLY hope. Especially considering who we might get for a President!! I would be the only defence, without me Utah is helpless.

9. You have talked about the "evil lies of the news media", are you referring to the mainstream media, citizen journalists, or both? [In this case, I am trying to portray you as a Candidate for Governor of Utah. In fact, my blog is endorsing SUPERDELL as Governor of Utah and the Libertarian Party of Utah.]

I was refering to the mainstream "news" media in Utah. They flat out lie about me all the time and have murdered numerous people. They abuse people so badly that many have taken their own lives after being completely destroyed by them. Flat out lying and marketing it as "news" is both comletely evil as well as illegal. I will fix the problem if I get elected so people will get the facts when it comes to voting on different issues. I will not allow the current terrorists to continue their rampage on truth and justice.

10. Since you are the founder of Totally Awesome Computers, how have you been able to build such a great company?

Hard work and numerous blessings from God.

Thank You Superdell for taking the time to be interviewed by the Alvarez Galloso News Hour. I am endorsing your candidacy right now.
