FROM THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY:
Libertarian Party selects Bob Barr as 2008 presidential nominee

Former Congressman plans to take the White House as Libertarian candidate

Denver - The Libertarian Party has nominated former Congressman Bob Barr as its candidate for president for the 2008 election.

"I'm sure will we emerge here with the strongest ticket in the history of the Libertarian Party," Barr stated in his victory speech shortly after being selected as the Party's nominee. "I want everybody to remember that we only have 163 days to win this election. We cannot waste one single day."

More than 650 Libertarian delegates met in Denver from May 22 till the 26 for the 2008 Libertarian National Convention. After six rounds of voting Sunday afternoon, Barr was selected as the Party's presidential nominee.

"We're proud to present to the American voters Bob Barr as our presidential nominee," says Libertarian Party spokesperson Andrew Davis. "While Republicans and Democrats will fight for their own power, Libertarians will fight for Americans. Bob Barr is one of the strongest candidates in the Party's 37-year history, and we look for him to have an enormous impact in the 2008 race. Republicans and Democrats have good reason to fear a candidate like Barr, who refuses to accept the 'business-as-usual' attitude of the current political establishment. Americans want and need another choice, and that choice is Bob Barr."

The Libertarian Party is America's third largest political party, founded in 1971 as an alternative to the two main political parties. You can find more information on the Libertarian Party by visiting www.LP.org. The Libertarian Party proudly stands for smaller government, lower taxes and more freedom.

The End of Grant

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-05-25 - 15:44:55

I read in Press TV and the BBC Website that Chelsea Owner Roman Abramovich decided to sack Avram Grant as Manager and Coach of the Chelsea FC following Chelsea's defeat in the Championship League in Russia. It is not surprising taking into account that Roman Abramovich is from Russia and is still thew Governor of the Chukotkha Autonomus Region in the Far Eastern Section of Russia [the part of Russia that extends almost into Alaska and the USA].

I once had negative thoughts about Avram Grant after Abramovich replaced The Great One Mourinho with him. Grant did not even have a license to coach in the Premier League but was able to coach a team of great prestige such as Chelsea because of the blessing of Abramovich. My thoughts after this news has been one of sympathy for Grant as well as for Mourinho. My thoughts do not extend to Abramovich since in my opinion, he speaks the langauge of money and for him money is more imporant than anything in the world.

Avram Grant was just a person who was placed in circumstances beyond his control and told to either sink or swim. Avram Grant was able to get Chelsea into second place in the UEFA Championship League, Premier League, and the Carling Cup. Avram Grant was unable to find time to obtain his license to coach in the Premier League and was under pressure to perform. In the end, Chelsea was in second place and Abramovich was as angry as Shinawatra was to Eriksson. It was inevitable that Grant was going to be sacked and I feel sorry that he was used, abused, and then discarded like the toy that was acquired by a self indulgent and arrogant boy who thought nothing about anyone except himself.

I hope Chelsea finds a coach who is willing to lead a team but not allow himself to be humilliated by an arrogan owner. I also hope Abramovich would find a way to sell his earnings in Chelsea and return to Chutokha. If Abramovich does not like being Governor of an Autonomus Region in Russia, I hope he can find happiness in an island in the middle of the ocean with his money and a mirror so he can glorify himself twenty four a days.

El Fin de Grant [Futbol] [Chelsea]

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-05-25 - 15:24:36
