US Tennis and the Beijing Olympics

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-31 - 19:19:25

The United States Tennis Association announced on the 26th of June 2008 that the following people will compete in the Beijing Olympics: Venus Williams, Serena Williams, Lindsey Davenport, Liezel Huber for the Women's Team with James Blake, Sam Querrey, Robby Ginepri, Bob Bryan, and Mike Bryan for the Men's Team. The United States Tennis Association also announced that the competition will occur in the hard courts of the Olympic Green Tennis Center which is located in Beijing, China.

The propsects for a medal in the Beijing Olympics 2008 is a big possibility since the United States has been the recipient of fifteen Olympic Medals since 1988. Serena Williams has been a Gold Medal Winner in the Women's Double Sets in the 2000 Summer Olympics held in Sydney, Australia while her sister Venus Williams has been the Gold Medal Winner of the Women's Single and Women's Double in the 2000 Summer Olympics. Lindsey Davenport has been the recipient of The Gold Medal in Women's Single in the 1996 Summer Olympics held in Atlanta, Georgia. Another addition to this mixture is Liezel Huber who competed for South Africa in the 2000 Olympic Games before moving to the United States of America. Since then, Liezel Huber has been an American Citizen and has been practicing in her residence in Texas. Liezel Huber also won Three Grand Slam Doubles and has been playing for the United States Federation Cup since April 2008. It would be a mistake to underestimate the US Olympic Women's Tennis Players as they go for the gold in the Summer Olympics to be held in Beijing, The People's Republic of China in 2008.

James Blake is hoping to start his Olympic Career by becoming the first African American Tennis Player to win an Olympic Medal. James Blake has been waiting for this moment since he was sidelined by a fractured vertebra and was unable to play in the 2004 Athens Olympics. He was instrumental in winning the Davis Cup Title for the United States of America in 2007. Bob and Mike Bryan were also instrumental in winning the Davis Cup Title for the United States of America in the same league as James Blake. Bob and Mike Bryan will be making their second appearance in the Olympic Games. Sam Querrey and Robby Ginepri will be making their first Olympic Appearance and it is hoped that they will make history.

Regardless, my best wishes to the United States Olympic Tennis Players in their quest for the gold in the Beijing Olympics of 2008.

La Porta, Strasburg, and US Olympic Baseball

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-31 - 18:33:59

I have decided to write about the prospects for the US Olympic Baseball Team with the intention of correcting some misconceptions. For one thing, there will be baseball stars competing in the Beijing Olympics 2008 while MLB [Major League Baseball] continues its regular season. One example of those who belong to MLB and will go to the Beijing Olympics 2008 is Matt La Porta. In fact, Matt La Porta is one of the keys for the US Olympic Baseball Team in obtaining an Olympic Medal. Stephen Strasburg is another key in the puzzle for the US Olympic Baseball Team in obtaining an Olympic Medal. It is important to know about La Porta and Strasburg when following Olympic Baseball.

Matt La Porta was born in Port Charlotte, Florida on the 8th day of January in the year 1985. Matt La Porta started his sports career as a Quarterback [in American Football] for the Charlotte High School Pirates before switching to baseball. At the age of eighteen, he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs but preferred to play baseball in the University of Florida. He also refused similar offers from the Boston Red Sox and won the SEC [Southeastern Conference] Player of the Year Award. The number of teams he played for has been the Helena Brewers, West Virginia Power, Mesa Solar Sox, Huntsville Stars, and the Akron Aeros before being drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers and the Cleveland Indians. Matt La Porta is currently a left fielder with the Cleveland Indians. The MLB Press Release dated on the 16th of July 2008 announced that Matt La Porta will be playing in the Beijing Olympics.

Stephen Strasburg is another choice for the US Olympic Baseball Team and does not currently belong to any Major League Team. Stephen Strasburg is a Pitcher for the San Diego Aztecs at San Diego State University. He was born and raised in San Diego, California on the 20th of July 1988. In the year 2008, he made a name for himself with a twenty three strike out performance in a one hitter on the 11th of April 2008 defeating Utah 1-0. He continued with a 1.57 ERA with 133 strikeouts in 97 innings. He has also played with the US National Collegiate Team in Europe with the following record of 2-0, 1.44 ERA, with 39 strikeouts in 27 innings.

I would like to wish La Porta, Strasburg, and the US Olympic Baseball Team the best during the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

US Congress: Leave the Beijing Olympics Alone

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-31 - 16:52:36

I am reading the article by Xinhua and CRI English about the members of US Congress attempting to mix politics with sports in the Beijing Olympics. It appears that members of the United States Congress are living in one world where politics is the order of the day 24 hours, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year and the rest of the people are living in the world of “Forever Friends” and the desire to enjoy sports.

The United States Congress has no moral authority to lecture the rest of the world on the issue of human rights when the election rules are biased in favour of the governing Republicans and Democrats. In other words, the Republicans and Democrats run the country while alternative political parties such as the Libertarians and Greens are excluded. What type of human rights is the United States Congress talking about? Is Congress talking about human rights in which people are assaulted? Is Congress talking about human rights in which families and elderly people are disposed of? Is talking Congress about human rights in which those who love sports have to take a back seat to those who are still in the Cold War Era? Before people start accusing me of impersonating a Westerner, I was born and raised in the United States of America and I am sick and tired of our society making critical remarks about the Beijing Olympics.

The NPC [National People’s Congress] and the Foreign Ministry of the People’s Republic of China did the right thing in protecting their country and the Beijing Olympics against attempts at sabotage. I would also like to add that during my visit to China, people were nice and courteous. The people of China including CRI English [China Radio International], China People’s Palace Hotel, and the Jusco Store treated me like family. I also want to thank CRI English for serving as a stabilizing force [along with my wife and daughter] during the period of Hurricane Katrina, Rita, and Wilma in 2005 when we had no electricity and when the US Congress did nothing to alleviate our pain and agony [a gross violation of human rights].

If the US Congress does not like the Beijing Olympics, they can sit in their boring buildings and talk about ways to make the American Population miserable. The rest of the world will enjoy the games.

Radio Free Texas: Yes; Carrie Underwood: No [Personal Opinion]

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-31 - 15:23:07

I have heard the song "Before He Cheats" which was interpreted by Carrie Underwood. I have also heard of Carrie Underwood and the fact that she won an award in the mediocre television programme called American Idol. As a US Citizen by birth and currently living in the USA, it is surreal that a country that prides itself on entertainment prefers the fast food, takeaway, and disposable type of pre fabricated music to the true American Entertainment that is present but never appreciated such as the artists that appear in Radio Free Texas or singers such as Nil Lara.

Carrie Underwood is a symbol of what has gone wrong in American Entertainment. Her songs as well the music churned out today by other artists is nothing more than a cheap shot at the institutions of marriage and family. Hollywood and their so called stars like Jennifer Lopez, Carrie Underwood, and Marc Antony would have people believe that men cheat on an hourly basis, that women must be satisfied sexually or they have the right to dump their husband and boyfriends, and that men must be around 24 hours, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year [which is close to impossible taking into account the fact that men as well as women have two jobs in order to bring food and clothing to the family].

"Before He Cheats" is another example of such music based on false accusations. While there are women and men who cheat on their significant other, "Before He Cheats" harps on the dominant society in America and the false accusation that all men and women cheat. "Before He Cheats" as well as other products of Hollywood have a tendency to look down on families while at the same time condemning anything that does not agree with them. At least, there is a population within the United States of America who is saying they have enough and turned off Carrie Underwood and others in favour of real talent from Radio Free Texas and other independent music. Hollywood and Nashville at times have been isolated from the true American People. It is like the big industries live in one country and their listeners are living in another country.

"Before He Cheats" deserves a one out of ten in my book for being the worst song with the worst lyrics in the world. "Before He Cheats" deserves a one of ten in my book for promoting division in the family and false accusations. "Before He Cheats" deserves a one out of ten for being a product of a music industry that puts profits before talent. Carrie Underwood also deserves a one out of ten for a terrible and agonizing performance in this song as well as in American Idol and in all of the albums she has released. If I had to choose between Radio Free Texas and Carrie Underwood, I prefer Radio Free Texas including the song by Amanda Hutchinson with the title: "I'm a Bad Ass Woman" which in my opinion is gutsy and was recorded as a response three decades later to the song "American Woman" by the Guess Who.

Bob Barr and the Loss of Freedom in USA

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-31 - 13:37:26

I recently testified at a congressional hearing about the separation of powers between the legislative, executive and judicial branches of government. Incredibly, there was a discussion about the erosion of your rights as guaranteed in the Bill of Rights. What is incredible is that we were having the dialogue in the first place.

But, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. Over the past 50 years, and certainly since 2001, there has been a steady curtailment of the rights our founding fathers fought and died for. And all this has been happening as Congress has allowed the White House to issue uncontested executive orders and bill signing statements of all kinds slowly chipping away the bedrock that was our Bill of Rights.

I've created a short video that I hope you'll watch. Then, I hope you'll take a moment to sign a special online petition we've created. We should collect thousands of these petitions to save the Bill of Rights and deliver them to Congress - specifically the Judiciary Committee which held the hearing I mentioned a moment ago.

While the President shouldn't be so fast to suspend our rights - even during a time of war - I hold the Congress equally accountable. They've shunned their sworn duty to uphold and protect the Constitution...after all that's where the Bill of Rights is found!

When I first considered running for President, it was with the belief that I could change the way Washington does business. I had hoped that
I could pressure other candidates and the Congress to respect their oath of office. This petition will help.

Please watch my short video, sign the petition and then forward this information to your family and friends.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Bob Barr

Learn from China and Great Britain about Doping

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-31 - 02:53:29

We are closer to the beginning of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics and again the scepter of athlete doping scandals have been raised. One of the most interesting articles that were written about the subject appeared in the BBC Sports Olympic Blog. In the article titled: "Olympic Ideals Survive Chambers Challenge" by Matt Slater, there was one piece of good news when the High Court ruled against Dwain Chambers and in favour of the British Olympic Association rule about those who test positive for banned substances are banned from representing Great Britain for life. Dwain Chambers fell under this rule since he tested positive for banned substances.

The People's Republic of China has the same rule pertaining to use of prohibited substances. If an athlete who is a national of the People's Republic of China is positive with a prohibited substance, he or she is banned for life from representing China. I personally think that it is a good rule that other countries that belong to the International Olympic Committee should follow since countries such as Greece is sending Katerina Thanou even though she tested positive for a banned substance. The United States of America is also sending Torri Edwards to the Olympics even though she tested positive for banned substances while Marion Jones was stripped of all of her honours and maybe serving time in prison.

The International Olympic Committee has introduced stricter rules concerning use of banned substances for the 2012 Summer Olympics to be held in London, England, Great Britain but the problem lies in the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. I personally think that many athletes in Beijing China are going to think two times before using a banned substance taking into account that China has stricter laws concerning the use of illicit drugs and banned substances than most countries in the West. While the West has a tolerant attitude toward use of drugs including banned substances [even though the Sports Associations are beginning to clamp down in response to demands from the public and after the damage that steroids did to members of the now defunct Olympic Team from the German Democratic Republic], China has a zero tolerance for drug abuse, use of illicit drugs, and use of banned substances. After what I saw in China, I doubt that an athlete would be so foolish as to even use banned substances in a society that frowns on it.

I applaud the decision of the People's Republic of China and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in its decision to permanently prohibit athletes who use banned substances from representing their countries. It is hoped that other countries will follow suit especially those in the Western World.

New England Revolution: Miracle at the MLS?

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-31 - 02:18:44

The New England Revolution initiated the 2008 MLS [Major League Soccer] with promises of a great season up to now. The New England Revolution is in first place in the Eastern Conference of the MLS with 33 points, ten wins, four losses, and three ties. The only team close to New England are the Columbus Crew with 31 points, nine wins, four losses, and five ties. The New England Revolution is also in first place in the Group B Classifications of the Superliga with seven points, two wins, no losses, and one tie.

Many so called experts who have predicted another victory for the Houston Dynamos in the MLS Cup were in for a surprise when the New England Revolution publicly humiliated the Houston Dynamos with a three to zero victory on the opening season of the MLS which was the 29th of March in the year 2008. After tasting the thrill of victories, other teams fell to the New England Revolution like dominoes. The following teams were part of the domino effect: Kansas City Wizards [which was 3-1], FC Dallas [which was 1-0], Chivas USA [2-1], San Jose Earthquakes [2-0], Columbus Crew [1-0], Toronto FC [2-1], Richmond Kickers [3-0], Santos Laguna [1-0], CF Pachuca [1-0]. The Houston Dynamos, FC Dallas, Columbus Crew, and Chicago Fire attempted a comeback only to be humiliated by losses.

The secret behind the success of the New England Revolution in the 2008 MLS [Major League Soccer] Season has been the tenacity, discipline, and organization that exists within the team accompanied by a will to win. I often wander if the New England Revolution are avenging the loss of the American Football Team The New England Patriots to the New York Giants in the last Super Bowl in Boston, Massachusetts? While the rest of humanity is trying to find a link, it is easier to say that the New England Revolution has the willpower and dedication to continue doing what it does best: play football [soccer] and enjoying every minute of it while picking up victories and ties on the way to first place. At the present rate, I will not be surprised if the New England Revolution wins the MLS Cup for 2008. The possibility of a New England Victory in the MLS Cup remains to be seen since it is halfway through the MLS Season, there is also an Olympics to be won, and that changes can occur within the season.

The best that can be done is to wish the New England Revolution the best in what remains of the MLS [Major League Soccer] Season.

GET REAL: THERE IS ONE CHINA: THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-30 - 00:10:57

The Western Media still talks about Tibet and China as if both were separate countries. Before talking about this soc called Tibetan Issue, let us separate politics from sports. Politics and Sports are to be separated with the people participating in the Olympics with the objective of doing their best to win and have a good time. If a country does not win a medal in the Olympics, the most important thing is to enjoy the Olympics and to enjoy the venue.
The idea of Chinese Mistreatment of Tibet is all a misunderstanding concocted by the Western Mainstream Media as a response to being envious that an Asian Country such as China is hosting the Olympics. Whether the people want to accept the reality or not, Tibet has always been a part of China. There is one China and that is the People's Republic of China. The People's Republic of China extends from Central Asia and includes Taiwan and 300 miles of maritime territory after Taiwan. I have said this many times in the United States of America and in China.

According to the studies made by Dr. Hu Yan, the British invaded Tibet three times [1888, 1903, and 1904] in an attempt to separate Tibet from China. The purpose was to create a buffer state against China and Russia. Historical Papers that were released by the Hoover Institution, Stamford University, and the Soong Institute revealed the same subject in a telegram between Kuomintang Leader Chiang Kai Shek and his Finance Minister T.V. Soong. The telegram verbatim states the following which was dated the 21st of May 1943:
"Soong: Churchill [Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1940-1945 and 1951-1955] said that recently it has been alleged that China has concentrated troops in order to attack Tibet I replied that I have never heard of such a message."
"And meanwhile, I said that Tibet is not an independent nation, as Churchill had claimed. All previous agreements between China and Britain have recognized that China possesses sovereign rights in Tibet, and I believe this fact has already been under your careful examination."
Chiang replied with the following: ""By treating Tibet as an independent country, Churchill has denied the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country. It's a great insult. I did not expect Britain would make such a statement Tibet is part of China's territory, and Tibetan affairs are China's domestic affairs."" This was the end of the telegraph.

Another article by Paul Mazza recounts how China introduced Buddhism to Tibet
and how Tibet has been an integral part of China for more than 700 years. Paul Mazza talks about how the British attempted to create a Foreign Bureau inside the so called Tibet and once forced the Thirteenth Dalai Lama to leave Lhasa. In fact, Tibet should be addressed as the Tibetan Autonomous Region. This effectively buries the lies of Hollywood and the Western Media who want to destabilize the Olympics.
The Beijing Olympics will be a success whether Hollywood and the Western Mainstream Media likes it or not. The Beijing Olympics will be a game that will be different from previous Olympics in that politics cannot harm any good will at this game. I want to reiterate my best desires for the People's Republic of China, China Radio International, and the International Olympic Committee in creating what will be the Olympic Games that will be better than the ones that occurred in the twentieth century

Bob Barr and Special Interest

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-29 - 20:52:07

Every month of this year Democrats and Republicans have raised tens of millions of dollars in their quest to retain absolute control over your government.

For decades they have held a monopoly on power and the establishment there has become fat. Special interests of every stripe feed at the trough of big government.

Big business gets their tax breaks and government contracts and the socialists get more and more welfare and other programs that inevitably fail.

And what about you and me? We're stuck with the bills to pay for the mess.

The result is a $9 trillion national debt - and your share of it comes to $31,000.

How did we get to this point?

Well, this is what you get when the system is broken and the two parties have no incentive to fix it. The status quo remains unchanged.

One way that the powerful special interests on "K Street" in Washington are able to maintain their access and clout is a little known process called "bundling."

Bundling is when a bunch of people with similar interests get together and decide to support one candidate for office. As an example, let's say folks from the defense industry (i.e. Northrup Grumman, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, United Defense, General Dynamics, etc.) get together and decide that their interests are best served by the election of John McCain as President.

The senior executives, directors, officers and managers of these companies number in the thousands. Each one of these fat cats is eligible to contribute $2,300. If married, they could also get a spouse to give $2,300 to the campaign. When you get 3,000 of these people to give $4,600 each, you end up with $13,800,000. Now that's a BUNDLE!

Similarly, unions (i.e. the National Education Association, Teamsters, AFL-CIO and dozens of others) gather together their "bosses." Imagine 10,000 federal, state and local leaders making their $500 "donations" along with another 50,000 of the rank and file each "voluntarily" giving $100 to their candidates. That's another $10,000,000.

The practice of bundling is conducted by nearly every special interest group in America. It is how they can buy access and influence government policies in Washington.

As you can imagine, those left out of the bundling process are also left out of government.

I am running for President because I want to eliminate the power of the special interests and put YOUR interests first.

Every special interest group from every element of the political spectrum wants more and bigger government.

More and bigger government means less freedom and higher taxes.
To counter the special interests, I ask you to help me raise $1,375,000 in "bundles" of $100 to $1,000.

I challenge you to ask your friends, family and neighbors for $10 or $20 or more. And when you collect these gifts, send them to us (or have them make the donations online).

A special club has been formed for people who agree to bundle gifts and collect at least $100. It is the Bob Barr Patriots Society and members who collect $100 or more will be recognized online and with a special pin.

For people who can go beyond the $100 level to $250, a special bronze-level Pin has been commissioned and participation at this level will be similarly reported on-line.

Of course, there are some who have many friends who can collect $500 or more. We call this the Silver level and it will be recognized the same as are Bronze level members, along with a Certificate of Appreciation from the campaign.

Finally, there are a few people who can and will collect $1,000 or more in gifts, and for them, we have a framed, personally autographed photo to add to the benefits package.

Like our founding fathers, our Patriots Society members aren't answering this call to action out of a selfish desire for power and influence in Washington.

And, like the courageous and bold leadership of our founding fathers, I don't need that many people to answer my call.

Membership in the Patriots Society is limited as follows (with the corresponding total to benefit the campaign at the right):

2,500 at $100 = $250,000
1,500 Bronze Level members at $250 = $375,000
1,000 Silver Level members at $500 = $500,000
250 Gold Level members at $1,000 = $250,000

This combined giving of $1,375,000 will help me get out our message of smaller government and more freedom.

It will cover the headquarters rent, printing, postage, mailing and travel for August and September, plus so much more.

Membership in the Patriots Society is limited. So, please, click here to let me know you can help.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Bob Barr

North Korea and Its Quest for Gold Medals in the Olympics

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-29 - 12:50:34

According to the Xinhua News Agency and the CRI(China Radio International) English webpage as well as the webpage of the United States Soccer (Football) Federation, the ethnic Korean magazine in Japan called Choson Simbo interviewed the coach for North Korea’s Women Football (Soccer) Team Ri Kum Suk. In the interview, Ri Kum Suk has announced that North Korea "will win the gold medal" and create the a miracle for the "DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea)(North Korea) women football ".

While Ri Kum Suk has talked about a victory using "great willpower, unbreakable fighting spirit and special technique", it remains to be seen how North Korea will fare against the teams from German, Brazil and the United States. While North Korea won the Asian Cup for women and has won all of their qualification games, USA is in first place with Germany being in second place. North Korea is in sixth place. The United States women football team won the Algarve Cup and the Peace Cup for 2008. In fact, the United States was heading towards victory until Abby Wambach broke her leg during a friendly game against Brazil in which the United States of America won another victory. What remains to be seen is how the women football games will play themselves out in the Olympics and if North Korea (the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea] )will win the gold medal.

Xinhua News Agency and the CRI English website reported that the same magazine conducted an interview with Hong Un Jong (Gymnast for North Korea or its official name the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea)and Cha Kwang Su (Wrestler for North Korea).

While the DPRK(North Korea) have two gymnasts participating in the Beijing Olympics for 2008, Hong Un Jong hopes to repeat the success that she had in the 3rd Asian Gymnastic Championships (2006) when she won the gold medal. She stated: "I want to compete with the master players of the world. If I could give full play to my talent, I would get a good result".

There are three wrestlers from DPRK of (North Korea) ] competing in the Beijing Olympics 2008 with Cha Kwang Su saying that he knows what the people expect, and that he will create a new period for North Korean wrestling. He further declared that he received his inspiration from the wrestlers of DPRK (North Korea ) in the 1980’s.

I will not predict the winner or the possibility of North Korea winning the gold medal. Sport experts who have made predictions have had the predictions thrown at their faces when the opposite occurs. I will be listening to CRI on my shortwave radio and or the internet to see how the Beijing Olympics of 2008 are progressing. As I stated when I was in China in June and July 2008, I wish all of the teams participating in the Beijing Olympics the best.

Western Media: Leave China and CRI Alione

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-29 - 03:17:05

After reading through the mediocre material written by MSNBC and NBC about China. I have decided to respond to the lies by MSNBC and NBC as well as other Western Media who are either ignorant of the realities of China or are racists. I am beginning to conclude that the Western Media in its coverage of China is nothing more than a publicity seeking money making machine that preys on the people with the intention of creating hatred. The Western Media has created hatred against Countries such as China, Iran as well as create hatred against minorities such as the US Latins. It is a pattern that has repeated itself throughout the history of the Western World with the Germans being blamed for everything bad in World War I, the Japanese being blamed for World War II, the Chinese blamed for the Korean War and the list is endless. At least Rwanda learned from the experience of hate radio. The West has not learned its lesson.

NBC and MSNBC have stated that they will be the dominant coverage in China. Other Western Media have said the same thing. For those who want to see the Olympics, there are other alternatives such as CRI [China Radio International] who with CCTV will be the dominant representatives in the Olympic Coverage as well as KBS [Korean Broadcasting Society]. CRI is one of the few stations that will give live and unbiased coverage of the Olympic Games in more than fifty five languages compared with the Western Media which will probably give the coverage they think is convenient. NBC and MSNBC, go and take your coverage elsewhere.

MSNBC, NBC, and other Western Media loves to invent separatist movements in China or find people in order to politicize the Olympics. My response to the Western Media is the following. You love to talk about human rights but ignore the violation of human rights when it comes to the Libertarians and Greens being denied coverage in the Mainstream Western Media. Your human rights with regards to music is an atrocity. The Western Mainstream Media prefers mediocre talent such as found in American Idol to the real talent of stars such as Nil Lara, Julieta Venegas, or even Radio Free Texas. The reason is simple: The Western Mainstream Media has an inferiority complex of being outdone by a competition that is better talented in music, politics, and sports.

There are separatist movements in the West: The United States of America has Lakota Oyate [a group of indigenous people that declared their independence as of 2007], Vermont, Hawaii, Alaska, Ohio, New Hampshire, Michigan, South Carolina, Washington, Oregon. Canada has Quebec, British Columbia, and Alberta. France has Bretagne. Great Britain has Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, and Isle of Man. The Western Media should cover the separatist movements within their house. The Western Media has also forgotten that Flanders wants independence from Belgium.

Newsweek published an article about the “so called” inferiority complex of China without taking into account that it is the West that has an inferiority complex. The West does not know what to do and what to follow since they destroyed the nucleus of what is family and allowed all forms of perversions to take over. The West with its legalisation of abortion and the rights of others to commit aberrations have excavated their own tombstone. The West [including the United States of America] for its anti family stance and me attitude is passing through turbulent times. I will never forget how the United States of America under the Republicans and Democrats abandoned the people of Miami Florida to their fate when Hurricane Katrina, Rita, and Wilma came along. Yet the West proclaims itself superior to the point that it hides the inferiority complex of “An Emperor Without Clothes”.

At least China Radio International and China [as well as other shortwave radio stations] have helped maintain my sanity when our so called Republican and Democrats who talk human rights violated our human rights during Hurricane Katrina, Rita, and Wilma by leaving us out in the cold. China Radio International gave me an opportunity to maintain my sanity. China Radio International is the voice of freedom in a world where the media conglomerates have dominated or want to regain the dominance they lost to those who want freedom in their airwaves from mediocre announcers and artists. China Radio International and China have the best in talent and art that is in good taste for those seeking a refuge from the debacle of present day Western Culture.

China at least helped the victims of their earthquake. I was in China and I saw a China that was self confident, friendly, dynamic, active, and becoming a power that holds the economies of the world with their checkbook. The West whether they like it or not has to swallow their pride or else face the prospects of a repeat of the Great Depression of 1929 when savings were wiped out. China is a place where culture is appreciated, the love of family is strong, the devotion to the elders, and the concept of marriage is strong. China is a place where the indecencies of Hollywood are not tolerated. China is a place where people have been able to walk in the streets without fear of being assaulted or mugged compared with the so called “Liberal Democracy” that the Republicans and Democrats espouse but in fact where anarchy, rape, robberies, and assaults are the order of the day. China also has a tough immigration policy as well as a policy of dealing with criminals while the West including the Republicans and Democrats want to give criminals and illegal immigrants a break.

China is a place where there the people are clean, happy, and greet each other. China is the place where the latest computer discoveries are happening. In fact, Haier [a Chinese Company] has products on sale in Miami Florida. At Brandsmart USA [which is a chain store in Miami Florida and other areas of the USA], Haier is sold alongside Whirlpool, Philips, Toshiba, Maytag, and Westinghouse. In fact, Haier has a washing machine that functions without water and is becoming popular in an America that has become obsessed with saving energy.

I would like to tell the Western Media and the Governing Elite [including the Republicans and Democrats] who are trying to invent stories. Please leave China alone. Your coverage of events in China are laughable and makes me want to repudiate your coverage even more. I am not the only one who thinks the same. There is a silent majority in the West who thinks that the Western Media [including the US Mainstream Media and Hollywood] has lost touch with the realities in their countries and with the world. Many people are listening to China Radio International and IRIB on their shortwave radios and internet. No amount of mediocre coverage can stop it. Since this is the case, it would render the Western Mainstream Media and Western Society as a whole with the significance of a fly in the window, nothing more than a nuisance. Such a nuisance is resolved by doing the equivalent of killing the fly and throwing it in the trashcan. The people of the silent majority are slowly replacing the Western Mainstream Media with CRI, KBS, and IRIB.

If you want to boycott the Beijing Olympics, go ahead. The only problem is that boycotts never work in the history of mankind. I will never forget when Carter who thought he was President of the United States from 1977 to 1981 [but never behaved like one] announced that the USA would boycott the Moscow Olympics of 1980. The response of the world was to laugh at Carter’s face. The response of the common United States Citizen was to cross the border with Canada and take flights to Russia [USSR at that time] to see the Moscow Olympics or to buy Moscow Olympic Souvenirs. My response was to write to my family in Cuba to tell them that a mean Gringo President called Carter [I could say this since I was born and raised in America] did not allow me to buy Moscow Olympic Stamps. My family in Cuba furnished me with the stamps. I then wrote to Radio Polonia, Radio Bucharest, Radio Budapest, Radio Prague, and Radio Berlin International and stated the same thing. Their response was to give me Souvenirs of the Moscow Olympics. In other words, your idea of boycotts is the equivalent of a temper tantrum since the Olympics are being staged in Asia instead of Europe and North America.

After reading the lies and deceptions of a Western Media that promotes hatred, violence, and even programmes such as “How To Look Good Naked” with a mediocre host who self promotes as well as other mediocre Hollywood Actors with inferiority complexes; I am convinced that CRI is the greatest. I am also convinced that China is also doing great progress in all of its spheres including the Love of Family. My best wishes for China and China Radio International in the Beijing Olympics.

Kenya Helps Olympic Athletes

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-28 - 20:37:53

According to the Xinhua News Service and CRI [China Radio International] English Website, the Government of the Republic of Kenya announces that it will give rewards in the form of cash to its gold medalists. According to the arrangement, the Government of the Republic of Kenya will reward $11,000 for the Gold Medalists, $7,500 for the Silver Medalists and $3,700 for Bronze Medalists. Kenya also announced $1.5 Million Dollars for the Olympics and Paralympic Games as well as $3.1 Million Dollars for Sports Development in order to find potential in the Sports area of Kenya.

While I have been tempted to criticize this practice as an example of conflict of interest and that the person may be tempted to win in order to get a cash award, there have been instances in which it has helped sports and schools. For example, WCIV News 4 reported about the Palmetto Gold Award and Silver Award for schools that excels. There have been reports about The University of Exeter in the United Kingdom offering Sports Scholarships for Golf, Rugby, Sailing, Tennis, and Cricket.

What the Government of the Republic of Kenya is doing is giving the tools in order for the youth of that country who want to major in sports can excel. In a continent dominated by war, politics, and poverty; sports is a way out of this endless spiral and a way to help the country. Imagine a country where there are potential sports people without an outlet. Imagine what Kenya is doing to promote future Sports Personalities. The possibilities are endless. People in Kenya who want to major in a sport can receive that opportunity from their government. Many of those who major in sports receive their gold, silver, or bronze medal and the possibility of advancing in life. The people who benefit from such a programme can inspire future generations to excel in sports as well. For those who are tempted to criticize the notion of Kenya paying its athletes to win Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals; my response is that when Nancy Kerrigan won in the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway in 1994, she received endorsements from major corporations. She was also honoured by a Walt Disney World Parade in Orlando, Florida. Who cannot forget how Oxana Baiul from the Ukraine received endorsements after winning in the same Winter Olympics of 1994? It is with these comments that I endorse Kenya’s Government paying their athletes to win Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals.

Trust in Luton FC

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-28 - 19:08:19

The dust has now settled on the various judgements the football authorities have made on Luton Town FC and, still, the perfectly understandable feelings of anger linger in many Luton supporters minds (as well as fans of other clubs, which has been encouraging). But this anger can be used as a positive. The Trust asks that fans of LTFC channel frustration into positive support for the team and, despite everything, still buy season tickets, attend as many games as you can if you can't afford a season ticket, buy merchandise and match programmes and bring friends and relatives along to games.

The only way to show your disgust at the injustices that the League and the FA have visited on us, is to show that you/we will not be beaten and that we will do all we can to ensure Luton stay in the league and thrive thereafter. A major part of this is attending games and helping to create an intimidating atmosphere at the Kenny to make it a fortress that visiting teams will dread coming to.

By way of cancelling out the 30 points in my mind, there are (at least) 10 good reasons (3 points each!!) why we have a lot to be positive about and why you should attend games and support the club like any normal season, despite our unjust handicap:

1. The Investors - Godfrey Ingram, Steve Foster, Bob Curson, Mick Pattinson and the others. They have showed their support for the club in a massive way. Let's thank them for ensuring we still have a football club to support by packing out Kenilworth Road.

2. Nick Owen - a superb figurehead

3. The operational team - Gary Sweet, Stephen Browne and Antony Brown. These individuals have been working incredibly hard, having inherited a club that was in a total mess thanks to previous incumbents. Without their contribution and intervention, I dread to think where we would be now. Oh, and these are genuine lifelong fans unlike some people who were previously involved at the club

4. Mick Harford - especially the way he's been talking recently - like the true leader and legend he is. He believes we can survive - so should we (I certainly do)

5. The players - for wanting to play for the club despite our handicap, they deserve our respect and support.

6. This could be one of the most memorable seasons in any team's history. You will not forgive yourself if you miss it.

7. Showing defiance to the FA and League that we will not go away and our collective spirit will not be broken

8. Show to the football world that we have the one of the most resilient, loyal fan bases in the country, especially as we may well be a lot of football fans' 2nd team this season

9. You will help make the Kenny a fortress by helping to create an intimidating atmosphere.

10. To ensure we can continue to attract decent players by showing what great support we have.

I believe we can get out of this and continue our long and proud history in the league but we, as fans, must be that 12th man both home and away and inspire the players to a glorious season. If we all pull together as a group, this campaign can be one of the great chapters in our history.

Your support will be rewarded in the longer term as 2020's business model means that we have a secure future - a future that I'm extremely confident will bring plenty of success on and off the pitch.

North Korea goes for Gold in Gymnastics & Wrestling [Beijing Olympics 2008]

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-28 - 18:16:32

Xinhua News Agency and the CRI English Website announced that there was more to the interview of the North Korean Sports Participants in the Olympics with the interview of Hong Un Jong [Gymnast for North Korea or its official name the Democratic People's Republic of Korea] and Cha Kwang Su [Wrestler for North Korea].

While the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea [North Korea] have two gymnasts participating in the Beijing Olympics for 2008, Hong Un Jong hopes to repeat the success that she had in the 3rd Asian Gymnastic Championships [2006] when she won the Gold Medal. She stated: “I want to compete with the master players of the world. If I could give full play to my talent, I would get a good result”.

There are three wrestlers from North Korea [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] competing in the Beijing Olympics 2008 with Cha Kwang Su saying that he knows what the people expect, and that he will create a new period for North Korean Wrestling. He further declared that he received his inspiration from the wrestlers of North Korea [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] in the 1980’s.

Again, I do not want to make any predictions. The only thing that I will do is extend an invitation to the people to watch the Beijing Olympics of 2008 on CCTV or CRI English. If you have a shortwave radio, please listen to CRI English for the latest news from the Olympics.

Sheehan: US leaders abuse executive powers [PRESS TV]

by AlvarezGalloso @ 2008-07-28 - 17:50:10

The following is Press TV's exclusive interview with Cindy Sheehan, a US congressional candidate widely seen around the world as an anti-war movement leader.

Press TV: When you began your campaign soon after the Iraq war and of course, after your son's death, you didn't really have the support of the American people, how do you think the American people's point of view about Iraq has been changed since you launched your campaign.

Sheehan: Since my son died, of course when Casey died, an overwhelming amount of Americans still approved of the war and still approved of George Bush and the time I have been doing my activism since he died and especially since august of 2005 when I was sitting in a ditch in Crawford Texas.

The shift in American opinion has shifted dramatically to being overwhelmingly now against the occupation of Iraq and against George Bush, he has a very low approval rating.

Congress's approval rating is even lower is only 9 percent and today like you said they had the hearing on executive abuse of power without being able to say George Bush's name, without being able to accuse him of any crimes or any lies.

They had this very weak hearing and of course we believe and I believe the American people are ready for some accountability, George Bush and Dick Cheney should be held accoun
